Back in July Kenneth R. Cains was killed. He was rundown by a powerful
Jeep 4 by 4. The killer fled the scene.
Kenneth R. Cains was a poor man, an ordinary citizen like you and me.
Later on the Republican dominated local media was quick to point out
that he was drunk at the time he was killed. The Republicans want
drunkenness to be a capital offense so long as it's not one of them
who is drunk.
It appears that after running down the pedestrian, the killer sped
away for miles to the front of the State Capitol Building. There he
inspected the damage the killing of the ordinary citizen had done to
his expensive vehicle. The victim had been smashed so hard and at such
a high rate of speed that the Jeep's headlight was smashed. The bumper
was torn loose.
The killer taped up the damage. He would get it repaired, but not
nearby.
The killer didn't report the accident. When the news broke about the
fatal hit-and-run, the killer didn't come forward. The killer made a
false insurance claim. He reported that he'd had an accident on the
Turnpike, safely remote from the slain victim.
The killer wasn't much worried. It wasn't his Jeep after all. It was
leased for him by us taxpayers. We rented it for him because the
killer was a big-shot Republican politician, Representative Thomas W.
Druce. Cleverly, the killer exchanged the Jeep for a new model. We
leased a new one for him. Then the death-car was auctioned off and
shipped out of state.
Republican Representative Thomas W. Druce must have been relieved that
the crime(s) occurred in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. It is a
cesspool of Republican corruption and influence. An ordinary citizen
doesn't have a chance against the machine.
Months slipped by. Nobody much cared about the victim, the ordinary
citizen, Kenneth R. Cains. It looked like Republican Representative
Thomas W. Druce would get away with it. But somebody came forward.
Apparently a woman wrote an account to the Harrisburg "Crime Stoppers"
outfit. Harrisburg is the seat of Dauphin County. The letter accused
Republican Representative Thomas W. Druce. The writer seems to have
had all the facts: the killing, the flight, the cover-up. There is
wide speculation that the writer, a woman, may have been riding in the
car with the Republican big-shot at the time of the killing.
Republican Representative Thomas W. Druce is married, but reports say
that just before the hit and run he'd left a bar with an
"unidentified" woman.
Enter Republican District Attorney Edward M. Marsico, Jr. Maybe you
think that the Republican District Attorney would simply arrest the
Republican politician; not so in Republican Dauphin County,
Pennsylvania. Instead, there was a secret meeting at a plush hotel.
Everything had a simple, innocent explanation. Republican
Representative Thomas W. Druce explained to Republican District
Attorney Marsico that yes, he'd been driving the Jeep, but he thought
he had just "hit a sign." He didn't explain what he figured a sign was
doing in the middle of Cameron Street.
The Republican District Attorney was satisfied, but out-of-town media
pressure forced a continued investigation.
Personally, when I test "justice," I like to reverse things. Suppose
that Republican Representative Druce had been the victim. Suppose that
the real victim, Kenneth R. Cains, had been the driver of the Jeep.
What do you think Republican District Attorney Edward M. Marsico, Jr.
would have done? Met with him in secret? Let him cook up the "sign"
story? Ignore the fact that he fled from the scene? Ignore the false
accident report?
By most standards crimes are indicated here: homicide by vehicle,
leaving the scene of an accident, making false reports and perhaps
others.
In Republican Dauphin County what matters is who you are. A powerful
Republican is home free. You or me is railroaded.
There are so many Republican politicians in legal trouble that you
can't keep track of them all; crooks by the score! Luckily for them,
Harrisburg the state capital, is in the Republican cesspool of Dauphin
County. They have a free hand in Dauphin County.
Don't misunderstand me, Dauphin County loves to put people into
prison. Republican Dauphin County locks up more people than anyplace
else its size in the country. But it doesn't lock up big-shot
Republicans. It locks up poor people and black people and helpless
people and Democrats. Republicans get special treatment. Had it been
poor Mr. Cains, he would be in a state joint right now. Instead, we
are leasing a new Jeep for a Republican killer.
