Hi,
My newsreader shows no messages in this group, but in case someone is out
there, how did "Last Seen Wearing" end. I was watching it on A & E this
morning and at about 3 o'clock I fell out. I saw up to them finding the body
of the female teacher who had fallen(or been pushed)over the stairs.
Thanks
Jeanne

Hiya Jean!

Regarding how Last Seen Wearing (movie) ended.

Let's see, I missed that half hour that included the teacher falling/being
pushed down the stairs. When I came back, there was a line up of sorts for an
elderly woman living across the street from the teacher to see if she could
recognize the size/shape etc of the "man" she saw at the teacher's house.
Turned out it was a woman.

But to the ending. Morse figured out that Valarie had become pregnant and,
since her family was Catholic, she had to use other people to help her with the
abortion down in London--thus the London boyfriend. He also figured out that
Valerie was "Mrs. Acum". So, he went to Acum's to collect Valerie.

The wife of the head master learned from her husband that he'd had an affair
with Valerie's mother. She (the wife) then went to have a chat with the
mistress. Oh my! The things they talked about--but we didn't see that.

The head master accepted the mistresses invite for sex one more time only to
find his wife there. The women told him they'd talked the fact that he was
*not* with the mistress on the night of the murder. He denied it going on and
on about how "unstable" the mistress was--the pig.

Morse collects Valerie from Acum's house and takes her to her home, where she
sees the head master's car, "his car", the one she saw at the teacher's house.
She enters her home and the head master is confronted with the accusation that
he was the one who killed the teacher for Valerie had seen him. He denied that
too including Valerie with her mother as being unstable, until the wife told
him to "just stop."

So, what had happpened? Valerie walked in on the head master having sex with
her mother. She was confused by this and told the teacher (Bains?). She also
had the problem with the pregnancy. She stayed away so long becuase she was
scared. The teacher, who was a lesbian, used the adultery information to black
mail the head master into giving her the power she'd never get from the board
because of her homosexuality. The head master went to her house to confront
her about this, wondering when it would stop. According to him, he never ment
to push her down the stairs, it just happened. Morse never told Valerie's
parents about the pregnancy or abortion.

Mind you, this is different that the book.

Hi,
Thank you for the reply. It was really bugging me that I fell asleep before
the ending.
I'm fairly new to Inspector Morse, and I hope I'll be able to see more
episodes.
Another dective series that I like alot is "A Touch of Frost". Thank
goodness for A & E.

Thanks again
Jeanne

Hubby and I have long been referring to all non-Morse Thaw vehicles ("Into the
Blue," "Kavanagh QC," etc.) as "A Touch of Thaw."
