Speaking of over and over .... I remember when the song "I'm Henry the VIII
...." who was that? Herman's Hermits ?? Everyone was requesting that song.
[back in the days of requests that actually got played.] One night this
DJ, who had gotten a billion requests for that song, played it ALL NIGHT
LONG ... over and over and over ....
I hope I never hear that song again .. or Winchester Cathedral !! <<<< I
HATE THAT SONG !!

Did you live in Chicago at the time that song was popular? It was probably
Super CFL that would do that at the time WLS was there competition and CFL
finally went under from pressure from such greats as Larry Lujack!! Great
years for radio (oh wait HooHoo invented all that has been done on radio)!

I'm sure there's a lot more, but just off the top of my head, I gotta go
with "Don't Worry, Be Happy". Classic example of a song that was WAY
overplayed, got on my "can NOT stand it anymore!" side and just never
recovered.
Michael
"Honey" by Bobby Goldsboro(?) or "Billy, don't be a hero" by I'm not
sure who and Paul Anka's (I think) "Having my Baby." Way over-played.
shooda been WHOM let the dogs out
Sincerely,

You had to go that far back for the most hated song? Jesus christ, by
virtue of the fact that you're sticking to CDs instead of turning on
FM should give you an indication that there are stations full of new
candidates...

Do you want polite or do you want sincere?
I think she's talking about songs that are played over and over again.
You would have to listen to a lot of AM radio to get as angry as she
is.
Basically anything on the rock stations is shit anymore.
And that's a step up from the non rock stations.
I've been getting a kick out of listening to the Caribbean stations
lately. Funny as hell, the DJs talk up the song, then they talk
through the whole song and even take calls. I think they like
listening to themselves...
The frat boys who beat up Norm MacDonald loved that song, too.
As for todays music, musicians, I really don't like any of them enough to
listen to more than one song .. they all seem like one hit wonders to me. I
can't even remember the names of the bands, because I don't like most of the
new music.
and THAT is why I like CD's .. and THAT is why I don't want a DJ or a
computer deciding what I am going to listen to. When there is a break in
traffic, I maybe want to hear the end of Freebird .. and when I am stuck in
traffic, I don't want some DJ putting on some angry music.
That was my point. I want to decide what music .. songs I want to hear ..
it isn't good enough to just be able to choose the station.

Yeah, no shit. I broke my 'Flirtin' With Disaster' CD and I can't
find a store around that has it. I only could find about five songs
off the disc to D/L...

I remember my mom telling me that when I was twelve... >:-)

I remember when MTV had a contest where viewers produced their own video for
the Madonna song "True Blue." Then they spent an entire day playing the
videos back to back. Different videos but the same fucking song- which they
should use to torture the dune coon prisoners in Gitmo.
