Soros: Kerry a Flawed Candidate

Billionaire George Soros spent $26 million last year trying to defeat George
Bush, and he blames John Kerry for Bush's victory.

In what Bloomberg.com termed his sharpest criticism of Kerry yet, Soros, the
biggest contributor to the beat Bush campaign, said that Kerry was a flawed
candidate. In an interview with Bloomberg.com, Soros complained, "Kerry did
not, actually, offer a credible and coherent alternative. That had a lot to
do with Bush being re-elected."

Kerry, he added, "tried to emphasize his role as a Vietnam War hero and
downplay his role as an anti-Vietnam War hero, which he was," said Soros.
"Had he admitted, owned up to it, I think actually the outcome could have
been different."

He had harsh words for the Democratic Party as well, saying he also now
questions "what the Democratic Party stands for." Democrats, he advised,
need to counter "a very effective conservative message machine. There really
needs to be an alternative."

During the campaign Soros donated millions to the Media Fund - a group
Bloomberg.com reported ran television, print and radio advertisements
against Bush - and America Coming Together, a group that mobilized voters in
battleground states such as Ohio and Pennsylvania. He also personally bought
anti-Bush ads in newspapers around the country, and went on a 12-city
speaking tour to criticize Bush's foreign policy.

Soros, however, has no regrets for his campaign activities, insisting that
the money he spent was worthwhile, and that he will remain active in U.S.
politics.

"I don't feel it's an investment that's gone bad, because when you stand up
for principles you have to do it whether you win or lose," Soros said. "I'm
distressed that Bush was re-elected, but I don't feel that I wasted my
money."

Even though I don't agree with many of Soros' political positions, he
does clearly/effectively admit that Kerry was partially at fault for
Bush's win. I'll take it one step farther -- the Dems have been
enabling the GOP because of their own weaknesses for quite a while
now.

The fix for the Dems IS NOT to become more and more crazed (e.g.
H. Dean), but to become more centrist and mature. None of
H.Dean, H.Clinton or J.Kerry are good candidates against GOPers.
I have been making this claim for quite a while...

Well, looks like Dean will be chair of the DNC. The other leading voices at
the time include leftists Boxer, Kennedy & lib Hillary who's attempting to
move to the middle.

Thought Bayh was "moderate" & was suprised by his "no" vote re Rice.
Lieberman is OK, but no traction. Time will tell...

It is true of course that J. Kerry was a flawed candidate but if you
compare him to Bush he comes off like an infallable God like
superhuman. The iraq election was the first thing that went right for
bush since he started the stupid war.

The problem was that Kerry was losing the election ON PURPOSE.

Bush had a scandal involving an Israeli spy in the Pentagon, and Kerry
said nothing.

Also, Kerry could have said the following: "9/11 occurred on your
watch, Bush. Therefore, you are weak." Kerry did not do that.

Also, despite all the evidence of Ohio vote fraud, Kerry stabbed into
the back all of the Senators who challenged the Ohio electors. Kerry
practically disowned those Senators.

So, I think that this election was a collusion between Bush and Kerry,
two Skull and Bones members.

I STRONGLY believe that it is okay to disagree with the president, so
even though Bayh voted differently than I would have (and I disagree
with the logic behind his vote), Bayh is NOT a nutcase like those
who you mentioned. I sure hope that Bayh isn't selling out to be
more tolerated by the nutcases in the Dem party!!! :-(.

Yes, Bush is much better than Kerry. The problem with Kerry is that
he was so very flawed, where he would tout his Vietnam service, but
that same service was source material for his dishonest claims (or
war crimes.)

Kerry kept Poppy out of the BCCI loop. Kerry is Bush's frat brother. The
John Kerry's of the world exist to give liberalism a bad name, which Kerry
has done ton the point of being, I'm sure, one of the great heros of Skull
and Bones.

Soros is a sucker. He needs to read my platform.

Crow, shmoe. That link is a demonCrap rant list.
C'mon. Why would a guy need 5 deferments when he really was a student
only once?

What, are you fucking stoopid?

What's "Pfc." in this listing?

Did he see any action in Korea?

Private First Class, I believe.

Did he see any action in Korea?

Were there bars there?

The far left was loving him spouting that Vietnam stuff...they got
themselves a real war hero!!!! It was all hunky-dory until the
Swifties smacked him down. I really enjoy all the tap dancing coming
from some of the more high profile leftists about how Kerry was the
wrong candidate...Yeah right, like there was anybody who could have
beat GW. Al Sharpton, the Screamin' Mimi? Not a chance. Joe Liberman
could've beaten Bush, that would have been Karl Rove's worst nightmare.

If the Dem's are smart they will not elect Screamin' Howard Dean and
put guys like Mark Warner and Evan Bayh right at the front of the
party.

This culture of automatic opposition will not serve the Dems well, and
it will be reflected in the polls in '06 if they keep it up.

Another thing, they need to get rid of that lightweight Harry Reid,
he'll take the Dem Senators down in flames if he becomes King Daschele
Jr. I envision pie in all of their faces in the next couple of years.

I doubt the Libercrats will have any kind of showing for the next 8-12

As for Soros and his "flawed candidate" piece.... Well NO SHIT!!
That is what the GOP has been saying for the last year or so.

It's good that the Libercrats finally acknowledge this, though. It
shows that they have SOME semblence of intelligence and that there MAY
be hope for them..

Do you honestly expect that Fox & their ilk would
report anything detrimental to their man, Dick?

Your ignorance is painful to those around you.
Deferements were on a per semester basis.

I invite you to lessen your ignorance by reading
this:

I'll leave it to others to decide that one, and
instead I will simply note that you lack the
cognitive skills to navigate Google's drool-proof
interface:

http://www.google.com/search?q=Cheney+Vietnam&btnI=

If you can read, I direct you to paragraphs three
and four (3 and 4).
