Mark Wahlberg's "Janet Jackson" ape remark

Haven't heard Howard talking much about the relatively major uproar
regarding Mark Wahlberg saying that Helen Bonham Carter, when made up
like ape, looked like Janet Jackson. I saw it mentioned in a whole
bunch of places- I think even MSNBC, NY Post, etc.

If things don't work out with movies, he has a career in PR waiting.
He's very media savvy.

You must admit though.... that she DOES indeed look like Janet Jackson
in that makeup.

They're bugged out because Janet Jackson is black and saying blacks look
like monkeys is rather degrading, even if it is true. I admit when I first
heard it that it sounded rather derogatory, but when I saw the picture, oy
vey, she looked just like JJ.

Does Janet really qualify as black anymore? Shes had almost as much facial
surgery as Micheal.

The thing I wonder about is how they went about casting the movie. LOL I can
just see someone in casting walking up to the 6'5" Black actor and saying "Oh
my..you are the perfect Gorilla Warrior!"

He was convicted in 1988 of a hate crime against two Vietnamese immigrants.

So, you can't say a specific black looks like a monkey? i know you
shouldn't generalize, but come one...a specific individual no matter
what color they are could look like a chimp. Janet Jackson isn't immune
from that comparison just because she is black.

I think Sugar Ray Leonard looks like Curious George. So what!! The only
reason there's an uproar is because Wahlberg is white. Had Chris Rock said
it, everyone would've gotten a big laugh out of it.
