I'm sorry to ask a question that has been answered several times, but I
can't find the answer, so please be gentle, bear with me, and help me
out: I am interested in a US source for the BBC audio tapes - all of
them - of the Sherlock Holmes saga. I believe most or all were written
by Bery Coules (please forgive misspelling of name). Please be specific
because I have trouble finding things when I try to go to a complex list
and look for something. Thank you very much.

Hello. This is the Redheaded League here posting under an alias... Amazon.com
sells the BBC tapes and they are also available from the BBC itself.

If you're willing to buy via the internet, try amazon.com. They have
all (I believe) of the Bantam Doubleday US editions of the tapes,
though these do not yet cover the whole canon.

For the genuine BBC-issued tapes (the entire canon in eighteen
double-cassette packs) try amazon.co.uk. They certainly have some, and
may stock them all.

For mail order, I have heard good things of:

The Talking Book Shop
11 Wigmore Street
London
W1H 9LB
UK

tel: 44 171 495 8799

though I've never used them myself.

I'm sure that these are not the only sources; perhaps other readers can
chip in with suggestions.

Incidentally, though I was the head writer, I was only one of a team.
I dramatised twenty-four of the short stories and all four novels. For
full details of the shows, the tapes and the book devoted to the
series, you might like to take a look at:

Sadly, I doubt it. They don't stock the tapes - and, indeed, told a
recent prospective customer that the BBC had withdrawn the entire
series (which it hasn't).
