Coral snakes have some of the most toxic venom around. you're pretty safe from them though because from what I hear they're not like a rattlesnake or other pit vipers, they don't strike and inject poison easily , they have to chew their poison into your skin which most people wouldn't allow . I've heard that they are dangerous for a child that has no fear of snakes and would play with one.

What factors increase the intelligence of the global brain?

More nodes (people)(neurons).

More communication links (synapses).

Higher level content of messages.

More frequent messaging.

**************

The world gets more and more populated , that increases the intelligence of the global brain. A more intelligent global brain solves the problem of overpopulation.

What happens when the global brain meme gets spread around the global brain? It gets more and more
self-aware; more and more self-awareness increases the intelligence of the global brain , just as humans are much more self-aware than chimpanzees and thus we are more intelligent .

you know it's impossible to have a physical infinity , like you can't have an infinity of apples , it would fill the universe , what about some other things like sentences? can you have an infinite number of sentences? you can because take the pattern:

this is sentence number one
this is sentence number two
this is sentence number three ....

you're OK as long as you're just thinking about the sentences but don't try to print them out.

My father was into homemade radio back in 1930 or so . He built a spark gap transmitter and receiver which he used to signal Morse code. There was one other person in Victoria, Texas that had such a rig and they discovered each other through their rigs. So it was a kind of SETI thing, two intelligent systems discovering each other via radio.

Carl Sagan's book "Cosmos" has two interesting quotes. The first is on page 275 is:

In only a few decades, sweeping global changes have begun to move in precisely the directions needed for human survival.
A new consciousness is developing which recognizes that we are one species.

Page 281: Through technological advances in communication our planet is in the final stages of being bound up at a breakneck pace into a single global society. If we can accomplish the integration of the Earth without obliterating cultural differences or destroying ourselves, we will have accomplished a great thing.

I believe that Sagan didn't realize that once the person to person and person to machine communication system is created what he spoke of becomes automatic via paradigm shift.
Also, obliterating cultural differences might not be such a bad thing , it might be inevitable given a single global society.

So we will eventually develop super-intelligent AIs. What does an AI have to do to become intelligent? It has to interact with people and AIs to receive information and to disseminate information it creates, so what does that mean? It has to become an element of the global brain, which holds it in place.
