How do you deal with someone that's writing to you too much? Why, of course, you cut them off (writing, that is).

How do you deal with someone who won't talk to you?

You go to the pool of 7 billion people and choose a new one. It's like "You act up on this job and there's hundreds of other people just waiting for your job."

See what overpopulation does?

Our overpopulated world forms the global brain. The global brain figures out how to solve overpopulation.

We worry about trying to achieve our first SETI success. What about a mature civilization that might communicate with 1 million other planets an average distance of 1000 light years away. You think we have problems.
Would these planets throughout our galaxy form a scaled up global brain?

What is the automatic answer to the question "why haven't you been writing me?"

"I've been busy."

Did you know that you're completely helpless against a former communication partner who wishes to remove you from their life?

Are you a hunter-gatherer? Well, of course not. A hunter-gatherer is very primitive, early human. But you hunt for information for the meeting coming up, you gather it together in a format you can present to your fellow employees.
Yep, you're a hunter-gatherer. Only the level has changed.

Isn't it unfair that a former communication partner of yours can delete you from their lives forever by doing nothing?

No, it won't happen. everybody will have their own tiny little speciality. No room for global thinkers anymore.

Why is there all this hoopla about the pipe bombs in the United States when the world has enough thermonuclear weapons to fry it 100 times over?

When I first heard cyberneticists talk about disruption being good for civilization I thought it was crazy , but apparently it's one of those a little is good , too much is bad effects. A little disruption keeps civilization from stagnating, a lot of disruption destroys it. Like World War III or a 100 km impactor. I tend to see people only write about the good side of it.

Fantastic insight into the true nature of reality is isomorphic to insanity.

The dictation software interpreted me saying isomorphic as "I saw more food." Is this what we want controlling the Earth's nuclear arsenal? Maybe super-intelligent machines or The Singularity will handle it ok.

this is no lie . here in Victoria ten or so years back a fellow went to one of the elementary schools and told the principle I have a health lecture I can give your six graders (12-year-olds). The principle said OK and the guy gets in front of class and proceeds to show the students how to make a vaginal dam. A monitor was present at the back of the school room and escorted the man out telling him he wasn't welcome to come back.

do you think that the fact that people can choose to fail to respond to a message they receive , give the worldwide communication system a form which resembles a neural net, thus forming the global brain? we of course know of other ways people can handle an incoming message , such as answer it, delete it, etc.

The penalty we humans pay for having access to all knowledge in the universe are such atrocities as the Epimenides paradox and Godel's two incompleteness theorems.
