Of course, the way to get no feedback is to ask for it because then your conversational opponent knows how to irritate you.

Did you ever hear of the mathematician George Dantzig? He arrived late to statistics class one day and he wrote down from the blackboard what he took to be two homework problems . He brought them solved to class the next morning, he told his professor they seemed pretty difficult. It turns out the professor had written down two open problems in statistics.

On YouTube they have the song "ghost riders in the sky " and as some background art they have this really weird painting that looks like a bunch of Vikings or somesuch gathering up these women for conquest or God knows what and I'm really curious if anybody can tell me who painted this painting and what's the history behind it , I'm just fascinated.

I know this is a ridiculous request since there hasn't been a bit of feedback in this group since Mudge died and Tian Harter left , so I don't have a lot of hope for this but hell , hope springs eternal as they day.

(PS -Tian left because I made some really horribly unwarranted
comment about a coin going through the bowels of a goat or some horrible thing so that just goes to show you need to watch what you say pretty carefully.)

The Global Brain is created from communication . When this virus first started I thought the main increase in communication will be from people staying at home and getting bored and just having more communication . But now you can see online communication is increased everywhere as a way of people not getting in physical proximity of one another . Perhaps we have the globalbrain really skyrocketing now.

Why do people think technology dehumanizes when technology is being used to enable person-to-person communication globally and this gives the planet

When someone is trying to form a relationship with another person the process is not to find someone and work to make them your partner , the process is to find someone and then do everything you can to eliminate them . Kind of sick , isn't it?

I would not have thought that COVID-19 would be instrumental in large advances to the global brain's power but it makes sense because the virus has driven so much activity online and it's online communication that increases the power of the global brain.

but don't tell people that conversation is a game because they'll say well it is if you're deceitful and dishonest as in the phrase "you're playing games with me " but you have to explain to them conversations have the form of a game that is

people send messages ,which are moves in the game ,

people take turns and

people are striving toward a goal , a pay off and that is bragging rights to be able to
say "I am more intelligent than you are"

Study on this a little bit , then from now on when you're in a conversation or you're privy to someone else's conversation you can't miss it , it's so incredibly subconscious , if you try to tell somebody this they will totally deny it . oh well.

"It's water under the bridge."

What does that mean? It's in the past, it's gone forever,
say goodbye to it , but where does that water go? It goes out to sea , what happens there? The sun evaporates it , it forms clouds , those clouds drift to the upstream side of the bridge and rain , the water comes back under the bridge, so it's not a lost opportunity , it's an endless cycle of second chances.
