Hi
I have a fragment of a photo on which a t-shirt is shown with
what appears a hello-kitty-imitation character

I would like to know if that character does in fact exist as a separate
character (within or without Sanrio) and thus has a name, stories,
cartoon, merchandise etc, or whether it is just a generic Hello Kitty
knock-off.
The differences to HK are significant enough to suggest a conscious
effort to diverge so as to not infringe: ears to one side, different
mouth, shading on top of the head (shadow?), visible fur on sides and
the 'inverted-u' shaped eyes..
Has anyone seen this before and may have a pointer?
