I've no experience with this newsgroup, so perhaps I'm requesting a FAQ.

Are these personalities the same? Five-O star and museum-exhibited artist?

Sorta like Eric Seagal -- bad actor and Johnny Carson Show regular / collected
sculptor?

Yes. The Metropolitan Museum of Art according to past articles on Jack.

I don't recall reading about his painting, but I do remember that he
got some publicity in the early '70s as a scrimshaw collector, and
that he lent or gave all or part of his collection to a museum in
Hawaii.

In 1980 you could have viewed, at the International Market Place on
regular display; day glo colored lithographs of Hollywood and Tropical
themes by Jack Lord at the (now defunct) Gallery Hawaii...
