I just watched an episode of H50 in which Stephen Boyd guest starred. You
may remember Mr. Boyd from "Ben Hur" and "Fantastic Voyage". He's always been
one of my favorite lesser-known actors. However, I was shocked at his sickly,
thin appearance in the H50 episode. I realize Boyd was no spring chicken at
the time of the show, but the decline in his physical stature since the
mid-60's was quite pronounced. Does anyone know if he suffered from any type
of serious disease at the time?

It seems I read somewhere that he did (Aids?), but I can't be sure. KM

Actually, I read that Stephen Boyd was playing golf one day and suddenly died
of a heart attack. I also read that Boyd did not smoke and was a fitness
enthusiast.

Boyd died of a heart attack on June 2, 1977, three months before this
show was broadcast. According to the Internet Movie Database, he was
49 years old ... but a shot of his grave linked from the IMDB suggests
he was only 46!
