I have just found out about this scheme that is trying to raise enough hits to
get a donation from Thames Water to raise money to put in safe water in the
developing world.
I think we are all lucky enough to have never (I think) had to drink dirty
water or to wash in it or anything else.
Please take the time to visit this site, and click on the button that says
click here, as often as you can in the next 3 months - lets help them reach
their target & put in those water wells.
Please forward this to friends & other people so that loads more people will
read about this
THANKS

Just one click is all it takes to make a free donation to
help Thames Water and WaterAid achieve our vision of a
world where everyone has access to safe water and
effective sanitation.
All you have to do is visit www.givewater.org and click
on the "click here" button.
Nothing could be simpler. Your donation will be paid for
by givewater.org's sponsor, Thames Water, and it only
takes a few minutes.
Safe water is one of life's most basic necessities. Yet
across the world over 1.4 billion people do not have
access to this vital human need. You can help change
this situation for the better.
Visit www.givewater.org to click to make your
free donation NOW!

The Hunger Site: http://www.thehungersite.com/
has been doing something like this for years. You can visit it and
click once a day to donate food, which is paid for by sponsors. The
idea is that you then visit the sponsors' sites to make it worth their
while.

Thames Water sponsor the GiveWater site, so it's not likely that Water
Aid is having to twist their arms for a donation. TW also distribute
publicity for Water Aid with their bills, which I think is a very good
idea.

It's administered by thegreatergood.com who also admin sites for
rainforest preservation, breast cancer screening, landmine victims and
a couple of children's charities. If you go to the URL above you'll
find links to the other sites as well. Each sponsor donates a certain
amount of whatever it is that's being collected for each click on the
'donate' button. Only one click per email address is registered each
day though, so multiple click-throughs are a waste of time and money.

I agree. For those not in the know, Thames Water is one of the UK's
largest water companies, serving London and the Thames Reaches (I
think. I'm no longer in the London area so I may well be out of
date).

I have formatted my HDD during the last fortnight, and consequently do
not have a full collection of posts from my subscribed newsgroups.
This may or may not explain any apparent inanities; at any rate it's
the only excuse I'm offering at the moment.

Not to mention www.therainforestsite.com
which is actually older than the hunger site. Either way, when you visit
either site, their is a link to the other site, plus 4 others. They are
great sites to visit daily.
There is also a site: www.ecologyfund.com
that is the same type of donation site. There are usually 5-6 charities
you can donate to daily, plus the opportunity to donate more by visiting
other sites. :)
And it's all free! :)
