Because the soundtrack was composed for the film. It wasn't just a
mish-mash of popsongs, or songs written for the film.
If you watch Starwars, Indiana Jones, Schindler's list etc (I'm sure there
are more!) it won't list all the tracks because the soundtrack is,
essentially, one long song; composed and conducted by John Williams.

There were no songs in the film, IIRC. The only music that appeared in the
film was John Williams' score.

That's because the film was entirely scored and contained no 'songs' written
or performed by anyone except John Williams and the orchestra.
Same for a lot of films of this sort of genre, where there is little
opportunity or need for stuffing the soundtrack full off songs performed by
well-known artists, which may not even have been written for the film (check
out Ferris Bueller's Day Off).
