post on afh, cause i thought it was cool.
so i do. but now i come on, and everybody is yelling at everyone else,
arguing over shirtless pictures and how it's wrong and that they're half
naked and all this. yeah....some great newsgroup this is.
so hanson went to the beach. so hanson had pictures taken in bathing suits.
what do you expect them to wear at the beach? full clothes? does anyone
really swim at a beach in full clothes? can you actually see someone going
into the water in jeans, a heavy sweatshirt and black shoes?
yeah, they were posted in MOE. fans can see what hanson did over the summer.
i truly doubt all the boys did over the summer was stand inside and sing.
and frankly, i was getting bored of studio pics anyways. dark, couldn't see
a thing, and counldn't tell who was who, and where this who was.
yes, they're posted on the net. yes, they're shirtless. if you don't like
it, don't look at it. no one, anywhere i post, can seem to get this. ppl go
look, even if they don't want to, then come here telling everyone it's
wrong, it's bad, they're ruining their image. some ppl like the pics, some
don't.
and so what if the moffatts take their shirts off during perfromances? the
fans like it, so they do it. actually, only scott takes his shirt off. bob i
think has come out a couple of time shirtless, but not a lot. why blame the
whole group on the actions of one? yes, there are shirtless pictures of the
moffatts. i have some. they were in a pool. again, who swims fully clothed?
k, i've rambled, got some of you mad, and all. so i'll stop.

well actually this type of stuff has gone on before you came here. There's
constantly fights going on. It's something you'll get used to if you think afh
is worth sticking out.
AFH is definitely the most unique ng I've seen. I haven't been to a ng where
there is almost always some sort of fight going on. On the other hand I also
have never been to a group where there is so many friendly people and so many
friendships come out of it.

more blunt, I'd say AFH sucks. Big time, sucks. However, it is

I have nothing against the shirtless pictures, because its just them at the
beach. Its normal. When guys go to the beach, thats what they wear. When they
went skiing, they were their skiing outfits. Thats not what bothers me. What
would bother me is if they PURPOSELY posed shirtless to gain some popularity,
or to sort of sell their good looks. Taylor's picture looked at bit like that.
I mean, honestly, if he isn't posing, what the heck is he doing? Giving a sexy
look to a crab? One thing that I have always loved and respected about them is
how they don't try to base everything around their good looks. They have always
wanted to be known and respected for their talents. Hopefully they still feel
that way. Sure, people have lost interest in them, but they shouldn't have to
stoop to that level to get their popularity back. They have so much talent,
they don't need to go that route like some artists do. I would lose a lot of
respect for the guys if they started posing shirtless (I mean doing photo
shoots shirtless, not like ordinary everyday pictures like the MOE pictures).
Hanson could be 3 butt ugly bold guys, and I would still consider them my
favorite band. I don't care what they look like. I love their talent, and I
respect what they are about. I think if they want to gain that respect from
other people, they shouldn't try to sell their looks. The last thing they need
to do is to follow in the footsteps of a boyband.

So here's my thought... everyone seems to think we spend all of our time
"fighting" here. But I don't think that's what's going on. We're having
discussions... one person presents their point of view. Other people consider
this, and then respond with their own takes on the situation. Especially in the
instance of the shirtless pics, I didn't see much, if any, fighting. No where
is it written that we all have to agree.. maybe if everyone here would realize
that AFH would be an even more interesting place. Normal is boring. Why not
celebrate all of our unique points of veiw?
I was probably the one who incited to riot on both of the shirtless pics, and I
really feel that Hanson and the Moffatt's shouldn't try to use skin to get them
anywhere in life. Beauty is fleeting, but the talents that they have will build
their worlds if they give them a chance without inviting pigeonhole-ing. Now..
just because I think that doesn't mean I don't enjoy seeing the pictures, or
that I think they should not exist. It's just my opinion, and I know lots of
people out there think totally differently about the situation. And that's the
beauty of the thing.. because from them maybe I'll learn to lighten up every
once in a while, and maybe from me they'll learn to look a little deeper into
the packaging of the media industry...

I've been here for awhile, and I haven't made a friend yet. I like basically
everyone here, they're all nice. I may disagree with them and make sarcastic
remarks to them, but I never mean anything personal by it. Just getting my
point across. I do it to my friends all the time. If I want to get my point
across, sometimes it comes out rude, but no one ever takes it seriously,
because they no I don't mean anything by it. But I still haven't made friends

Exactly why some people, myself included, over reacted. I haven't seen
Moe 6, so I'm not fully informed. But hearing of the shirtless
pictures gave me this horrid view of Hanson "evolving" into male
stripper wannabes. You know, the type who bump and grind on stage in
front of a thousand ten-year-olds. Of course us fools should know
better, but give us a little slack. It's in our blood to assume
certain things that ought not be assumed.

in awhile. See a dentist. Call a plastic surgeon. Jump teeth-first

and flossing his teeth. I'm lost there. Ash, put that pic back up so

Now some people are all upset about these *great* pics of the guy's at
the beach... I can't figure some of you people out. Where is it wrong
to take beach pics and put them in the MOE? I mean, Ike, Tay and Zac
were just being regular guy's enjoying the fun filled life of sunny
California...Where's the sin in that?

I too saw the page that has the Moffatts shirtless pics posted, and I
clearly noticed a difference in the message portrayed from some of
those pics, and shirtless pics that Hanson has put in the MOE. I don't
have a problem w/ a guy removing his shirt on stage, as long as he's
not doing perverse things w/ his body. But if they remove their shirts
cause their drowning in their own personal sauna when performing and
they need to cool down, then I say go for it. I noticed that *Some* of
the shirtless Moffatts pics appeared to be *staged* as in "I'm going to
pose w/ my shirt off so that everyone can see my sexy body." One of
the guy's had pics taken while he was taking shower... Why???? That's
something you do in a shampoo commercial or in a psycho movie, not to
promote your image as a rock star. But what Hanson was doing was taking
pics while hanging out at the beach shirtless... nothing wrong w/ that.
I'm sure all of us have seen thousands of pictures of shirtless guy's
at the beach...Why can't we see Hanson too? And, what's wrong w/ them
sharing w/ us what they were doing on a nice sunny morning at the beach
in the MOE? If Taylor was laying sprawled out on a surf board posing
w/ a sexy sandy body as if doing bathing suit photo shoot for Sports
Illustrated, then that's a different story. They showed us one headless
body (Ike?), and two face shots (Tay and Zac) w/ little body.
Hanson's shirtless pics look very innocent and harmless to me, and I
don't think that they have anything to feel ashamed about for having
put those pics in the MOE. We all knew that they were going to the
beach, and if they want to share that w/ us in the MOE, then I say
great.

yeah but you don't have to get offensive about it. Instead of saying some of
the things you did, you could have just put them in your killfile from the

I forgot to make a point in the last post....
I think that there's a time and a place for a guy to expose his bare
chest. I also feel that depending on where you are and what your doing,
it should be *age* appropriate. So this may sound hypocritical, but I
think that it's ok for men to expose their bare chests at a concert
while performing, as well as guy's of any age to go bare chested at the
beach.
On the other hand I think that teenage boy's are too young to expose
their chests during a concert performance, whether it be Moffatts or
Hanson, because it does present a particular image, and why start such
an image at such young ages. The Moffatts are obviously showing us that
they want that image. Don't get me wrong about how I feel about the
Moffatts... I like their music and would like to see them in concert
too.
I don't see Hanson as looking for that "sexy" image in any way, shape,
or form, by putting shirtless beach pics in the MOE. They're image is
totally about the music, not about looking good.
