So - - - what the hell happened?
Where has Al even BEEN lately?
I think one reason that I, as well as probably others,
consider him as "has been" is because he's been out of
the public eye for quite some time, and it's difficult to
consider him still actively active in the mainstream film
and television industry when he vanishes like that.
At any rate, Al seemed uncomfortable with the entire thing.
If that actually WAS his son, which to be honest I'm not even
sure it WAS, then there's one word for the two of them: dysfunctional.
I'm wondering how much of that was scripted and how much wasn't.
Seemed that Al even blew a line or two in that whole thing, and
it only lasted all of three minutes, tops!
Al, you were once the king. Now, you're a mere peasant.
Get the hell off of my tv. Like, NOW. Thanks!
He starred in the critically acclaimed, audience hated show LAteline
that NBC plucked before it could do any 'damage.' But Jesse, Veronica
and Susan are so intelligent and superb that they deserve more acclaim.
Anyway, Lateline was behind the scenes in a news television show which I
actually feel is better than SportsNight. When Phil Hartman died, I felt
that Lateline could take over NewsRadio's place (since it declined
season 5) as the best, intelligent sitcom out there. Of course it was
pulled because critics loved it by audiences hated it. Similar case with
Fox's ACTION this year. Critics loved it, audiences didn't and though
more episodes were produced they put on something else that we've seen
before. With Fox, it was that Millionaire ripoff Greed since we all know
how great that show is.
Besides, I actually liked the Stuart Smalley movie because it was unlike
any of those other SNL movies. They didn't rely on stupid laughs, it was
actually an interesting view into his life and family. If only it had a
few fart jokes....

Of course he's uncomfortable. The reason he left the show (or so I
heard) was because he was turned down for the Update desk. Of course it
was sent to McDonald so that's a plus, but then it went to Quinn ...
