I've just been watching an old episode of Fresh Prince and was struck by
what appeared to be Alyson Hannigan in an early role. The child actress
played Tina, a gifted child, who has a crush on Carlton... Unfortunately,
not all the extras were listed in the credits.

can anyone confirm or deny this fact pleae??? The childs voice was
uncannily similar to her portrayal of "Flute Girl" in American Pie.
Her face was pretty similar too. Including what looked like the beginnings
of that cute little nose of hers...

Nope, Tina was played by Morgan Nagler, who was also in American Pie 2,
playing "Michelle's Friend".

She's apparently 5 or 6 years younger than Alyson. That episode was in
1992, when Ashley (she was a classmate of Ashley's) was supposed to be
around 12 and still in grade school. Alyson was graduating high school
at that point, and while she could pass as a teenager through her
twenties, I don't think she could still do a convincing pre-teen at that
point. (Nagler was 12 or 13 when she played the role).

well that's blown that theory... no wonder the kid was so strikingly
similar with the band-camp geek-girl type voice...
