pwah! why pay this charlie huge sums for a paltry selection of goons? i'll do
better: for only four portraits of old woodenteeth (translation: $4) for herns
and six portraits for non-herns (thinks: are canooks herns?), i will supply a
cdrom of some 120 goon shows. this price includes cost of media plus shipping
and handling. i paid nothing for the content - why should you?

these shows came from his royal nibs lord kurt's site, from the beeb cds, from
a cdrom by rob breslin, from wuss's ftp site, and from candy kane's a.b.s.r.o
postings and vary in audio quality from appalling to ted kendall perfection. a
caveat: as i dislike the tunes of max and ray, i have excised them from all
but one show (and that one they survived because i wasn't paying attention). i
also removed the stargazers, who are even worse!

for details, send mail to (anti-spam) bloodnok at yahoo dot com and i'll give
you the hern address to send your international postal money orders!

OH, THE MOOLAH!

we'll be rich beyond our wildest dreams!

april in paris... (BLATTT!)

owwwwwwwwww! (Stop that you steaming Gaul!)

and folks: to encourage auntie, please buy the beeb cds! they're much better
sounding than these mp3s and for completionists they can't be beat!

I seem to remember someone getting a slagging off in this NG for trying to
help other Goon Show fans by offering a CD of MP3 Goon Shows.

Has things changed or is it dual standards!!!

oh dear oh dear! i wasn't slagging anyone... this is my favourite newsgroup
and the lack of flamewars and other nonsense is refreshing after the rest of
usenet. kindly do not take offense!

Maybe Goons could be found elsewhere but other British Comedy is hard
to find ( especially for us ex-patriats forced to live away from
Englan's Green and Pleasant) so I think it's not so much to pay
considering the other content. It takes time to put together a
collection like that and time is money so they say. You have any other
old British comedy, ISIRTA?

It's not a dual standard. It's not slagging. There are just a few of
us here familiar with the BBC's policy of, "Don't make us have to
notice you or we will." Selling these shows on a cd is in direct
violation of BBC copyrights. If you sell a cd for only the media and
shipping value it's a (very) dark gray area, selling at a profit will
bring the full force of the beeb down.

We try to keep the BBC from noticing the MP3 libraries in hopes of
keeping said MP3's available longer. This however is a bit too
blatant.

Ryan

Plus, I LIKE Ray Ellington. I got some of the early released shows
(emi I think) without the music and there was something missing. Max
is a bit shrill for me. And his book is strange...

"I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue". Features Tim Brooke-Taylor, Barry
Cryer, Graeme Garden and (until his untimely death) Willie Rushton.
Described as "the antidote to panel games", the proceedings are
overseen by Humphrey Littleton.

In recent years, Willie's place has been taken by a variety of
guest comedians: the best of which has probably been Paul Merton.

It does still appear on BBC Radio 4: the latest series finished
earlier this year and a new series is expected in the autumn.

Don't worry about it. I'm sure someone else will know.

Thank you. I guess I've been too long gone from my native origins.
Time for a trip back to home and hearth and the good old beeb.
Unfortunate cash flow problem just gets in the way though.
Wish you could get Radio 1,2,3,4 on the web. Broadcasts of BBC World
Radio just don't cut it!!

australia? isn't that the name of -mnk- australia?

tom, or geoff, or whomever,

if you want cd's, there are plenty of shops on the web flogging the
beeb discs. if you want mp3's, contact bloodnok at yahoo dot com for
some expurgated goons (missing the max & ray contributions). for
unexpurgated goons - and a more complete set - await instructions from
his lordship kurt goon (gsd - ret) on when he plans to make cd's of his
enormous collection available to the great unwashed.
