(raspberries)
Having just recently discovered this silly twisted newsgroup and
getting all weak at the knees as a result, I have been cataloguing
the shows that I have recorded on audio type tape (from a radio
station in the Bay Area back in the early 80s). Using the list of
Goon Show programs posted by Mr. Russell Street, I have managed to
tag most of the 30 some episodes that reside in my steaming place
of residence.
However! There are some mystery episodes that I cannot splinge.
I submit to you the following for your comment:
A show I call "Second King of England," where Harold (HS) is
kidnapped by GT and M to get the reward for his return (4 shillings
per pound). Quotable quotes: "I'm a former latter, you know" (Bloodnok)
"I'm the anti-climax" (Eccles)
"Ladies and gentlemen, in the interests of hygiene, we end this show" (WG)
A show I call "Ned joins the Foreign Legion"
Basically a spoof of Beau Geste
A show I call (and WG announces as), "The Tomb of Genghis Khan"
Quotables: "Sometimes I don't think of aardvarks" (GT)
"Sapristi monkeys! It's so cold!!" (Moriarty) with Spike carefully
skirting BBC's rule about the brass monkey references!
So howabout it folks?? What are the "official titles for these?

(The?) Childe Harolde, I believe.

[about the third use of the joke in this show]
Grytpype: Sometimes I don't think of aardvarks.
Moriarty: You mustn't be so careless! Aardvarks never killed anybody.
Sellers (in his own voice, choked with suppressed laughter): It'll kill us if
we use it any more.
This episode was entitled "The Terrible Revenge of Fred Fu-Manchu".
--PSW
: This episode was entitled "The Terrible Revenge of Fred Fu-Manchu".
I used to think this too, but then there was another show that
was announced as "The Terrible Revenge of Fred Fu-Manchu", the one
about exploding eggs or eggs with minituarised chinamen in them or
something (I seem to remember something about hard boiled eggs with
pigtails), and I believe that the aforementioned episode ("The Tomb of
Genghis Khan") was "The Lost Emperor".

Also know as "King Arthur's Sword"?
While I'm about it, you Charlies might be interested in a bad
case of the statistics that I came across whilst gophering around
looking for a public access usenet server with a reasonably small
delay for newsfeed of alt.fan.goons. It's probably about a month old,
but here it is anyway.
