I know this poll will prob be a landslide for Godzilla 2014 but i was wondering if anybody enjoyed the 1998 movie more? I've just watched both movies back to back and its kinda tough to decide. The only thing i like about Godzilla 14 was they got the look of godzilla right...had him have atomic breath...fight other monsters and was indestructable. Everything the 98 movie didn't do...however as a movie i just enjoyed the 98 one alot more. It just felt alot more fun and exciting whilst the 2014 movie didn't show any action or fun until the end fight.

I've heard alot of people argue its just the same as in the original Godzilla or Jaws but those movies ...Jaws especially worked because the characters & dialogue kept you into the movie...Godzilla 14's characters were bland and dialogue uninteresting.Bryan Cranston was a great character and could've been the Chief Brody of the movie but they kill him off so quickly! Godzilla 98 was a stupid popcorn flick that you can watch without getting really bored...2014 however i felt myself texting or doing other things while it was on...the monsters would grab back my attention for a brief moment but within 20 seconds they were off screen and back to 20 mins of boring dialogue.

I really think my perfect Godzilla movie would be the Godzilla look and attributes from the 2014 movie...with the story of the 1998 movie. Him just attacking a big city and taking on the army with a good lead like Bryan Cranston replacing Matthew Broderick.

So what does everyone think about comparing these movies? Anyone actually prefer the 1998 version?
