of, obviously Geri Halliwell, singer, actress and entertainer. This FAQ
(Frequently Asked Questions) is divided into four parts.

I. WHAT IS THIS NEWSGROOP?
1. What is on topic here?
Good question. Basically, this newsgroop is for the discussion of
all things pertaining to ex-Spice Girl Geri Halliwell. Anything is on
topic -- as long as you can relate it to the topic of Geri.
2. What is off topic here?
Basically, things not related to Geri. You should also avoid
posting binary files. There are many alt.binaries.* newsgroops dedicated
soley to the Spice Girls, so if you have a photo of sound file that you
would like to post, please post it there. If your server does not carry
those groops, mail your sysadmin and ask them to pick them up. When you
post a file, it is acceptable to make one post on alt.fan.geri-halliwell
telling readers where to find your binaries if they want.
3. What is everyone's opinion on flaming/swearing?
It's a free world, isn't it? Well, fair enough if you live in an
oppressive country, it's not, but theoretically. If you want to flame
another user or use swear words constantly, that is your descision. It is
desierable, however, to keep swearing to a minimum and have civil
disagreements instead of flaming. If anything, it makes you look more
intelligent.

II. WHO IS GERI HALLIWELL?
1. So? Who is she?
Unless you've been living under a rock for the past two years, you
should know who she is, even if it's just by face and not by name. Geri
used to be Ginger Spice, also known as Sexy Spice. She was in the English
pop groop Spice Girls until May 1998, when she quit to go on to a solo
career.
2. Okay, Ginger Spice. Which one was that again?
Geri, Ginger Spice, was the one with red hair, big boobs, and a
raspy voice. She did part of the rap in the song Wannabe. Generally, she
was the best known Spice Girl, who always came in on top of popularity
polls.
3. Oh! Wasn't she the porno model chick?
Um, yes. If you're one of the few people left in the world who
hasn't seen these pictures, you can find them by poking around at the
Spice Shack, http://gazza.simplenet.com/spice/ . They were also published
in Playboy and Penthouse.
4. So what the hell colour is her hair? You said red, but...
The million dollar question. Naturally, it's dark brown. She's
currently sporting a sort of honey brown, which looks great on her. Her
hair colour as a Spice Girl has ranged from brilliant cherry red to sort
of orange and gold to burgundy with white streaks.
5. She wears neat shoes. Where do I get a pair?
Well, the Real Thing is gonna run you up some dosh. Her shoes are
mainly made by two designers: Vivian Westwood, a posh London eccentric
designer, and Buffalo Boots, who can be found on the web at
http://www.buffalo-boots.com/ . Westwood's shoes are very, very
expensive, and Buffalo Boots, whose current collection is purely
trainers, will run you 75 quid or above ($130+ US). However, don't worry.
There are a million high street/mall knock offs running around. You can
find them in most any British female clothing store, and you can find
them at Wet Seal/Contempo Casuals in the US, all for very low prices.
6. Wait! She's the Union Jack dress girl! Where do I get that?
You don't. There are still high street knock offs floating around,
but they are very poor quality. The original costed nearly 2000 quid and
was custom made, which is why hers looked good and everyone else's looks
crap.
7. Where can I find out more about her?
You can ask on this groop. If you'd rather not do that and look too
new to the subject, go to http://www.yahoo.com/ and do a search for 'Sexy
Spice'. They have a whole category dedicated to her, with many good websites.

III. WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THESE SPICE GIRLS?
1. So what exactly are the Spice Girls again?
I'm sure you wouldn't ask this, but they're a fading pop phenomenon
who first became known in the summer of 1996. Their biggest international
hit is the song Wannabe. You know, the one that goes 'I wanna really,
really, really wanna zigazig ah!'
2. Didn't they do a movie?
Yes, and you can buy it right now at the stores. It's the last
place you'll see Geri with the other four.
3. So why did she leave?
To put it simply, differences with the other groop members. But no
one wants the simple answer. The complex answer is that she had many
problems with Mel Brown, also called Scary Spice. She was pushed a lot
and when a film role was tentatively offered to her, she saw a way out.
And took it.
4. So this Mel Brown is a bitch, right?
Yes. But let's not just blame her -- the other Girls (Emma Bunton,
baby Spice; Melanie Chisholm, Sporty Spice; and Victoria Adams -- soon to
be Beckham --, Posh Spice) could've helped Geri, and Geri could've told
Mel to piss off. It takes two, or in this case five, to tango.
5. So what am I supposed to think about this then?
You're supposed to think that it's good that Geri has gone on to
bigger and better things with her life.

It's the way I spell 'group'. It's intentional. Deal with it.
