in your area today?

Wow! Only last November the gov't tested the National Emergency Alert System over the entire nation for the first time. Now local police are conducting drills with the military. What next? Don't tell me, let me guess....it's for our "safety".

I was on a military base recently, and woke up hearing a strange sound outside my hotel. I opened the window and saw troops marching up and down the road shouting out..."Sound Off...1...2...3"....etc. I see a day when our neighborhoods will be like that. Just think how "safe" we will feel with troops marching up and down our streets.

Yes I heard them, there is no mistake by that sound.
Sharp blap blap blap compared to the duller
sound of news copters.

I resent them suggesting the safety of the public was
a big issue because accidents do happen so why
not practice on a computer grid away from the city???

I think I saw one also because I did look up at a copter but it was in
the day and the reason why I looked was something didn't seem right
about it's sound and it looked stupid but I can't say why exactly.

I have been able to help people with real disorder so

They don't have the time or $ to close,
or even patrol the boarders.
However?
They do have time and $ to drill for
an invasion of Downtown L. A.

Whats wrong with this picture?
Perhaps the Military has never
heard of the SWAT Team or Parker Center.

get together and pay for street security and clean up
the super rich are paying for the bad ass security now.

At least they informed the public so as not to cause alarm. Remember
a few years back when Air Force One flew low runs over New York City
for a photo op and didn't even inform the mayor?

This is true! Car alarms are one instance where we've come so used to
hearing those that nobody really pays attention to them. Here in
Little Rock, they sound an air raid siren at 12 noon on Wednesdays.
When I first came here, it took some getting used to but after a few
months, I hardly noticed. Imagine if the enemy attacked at 12 noon on
Wednesday?

I knew the economy would pick up before the election..

that's going to change everything.

the argument can't be mainly the economy, it has to be about
reducing big government and
returning the right to privacy back to American citizens..
