On another thread where gypsie and rpbc
and DTT and faithfultojesus were so heated
in describing the mindset taught by doc to
people like Stove Stoner, Batty Addy etc......

It has come to my perception that this doc-bot
style of give me so I can teach you to leach,is
no more than a pyramid scheme.

Lets see, If doc came to town rich, he came from the riches of other
people's money right?!

The Oreville people who he never paid back for his Stanford education, and
I'm sure those who have been "taught" by his formal training of being able
to "run" a university style faculty.

University style? Meaning? The spoonfeeding of
percieved higher education through graduation.
The Big Business of piecemealing knowledge.

So then, he gets his hands on Faith Broadcating
Network...an easy aquisition since they are going down for the third
count....and now he has his platform.

sidebar: At this time did doc have a handle on himself? was his mental
stability a touch and go
situation? It seems at times he was stable, but then, not.

Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch:

So doc took flight with his teaching of
The Great Pryamid....let's imagine, the opening
of the pandora's box....what exactly makes this
pyramid so fascinating? The trickle down method
of elitism? Freemasons RISE!

So now the teaching of enslavement to doc and his
calling, his methodology is none other than the same old song, only this
time with a pipe and a hat and some horses! Oh, no one gets killed except
your ego, in which doc surgically removes
by way of your instinct, gut feelings and sense
of morality and ethic. Yes you have now become
desensitized.....a scott-bot.

FASTFORWARD:

Now the time comes where you must pay where you
have been fed. But don't mention it to The Feds.
Because doc is using your "giving" to increase
his investing in The Fed. It's called playing
with YOUR pretax dollars! Get it?

Undergrad Ceremony:

In order for you too to be prosperous in this lifestyle that is blessed by
The all seeing eye of Gawd....(look at the back of the dollar bill)
it shall come as no big surprise that you have now entered the next level.
It is no longer just a one way affair. You must now act as if the whole
battle depends on you! Get that holy dollar
back in the storehouse where it belongs.
Milk the system. Get others to invest in you as you invest in doc as he
follows.....!@$#%^CHRIST!

Yes, It The Great Pyramid Scheme.

As with all pyramid schemes they all run out of steam and collapse.....the
real losers?

The foundation, isn't it?

True, Studio, all very true.

Scott was an asshole, no doubt. And I was too when I first heard him
teach. Who knows, maybe Doc's true, almost subliminal appeal was that
assholes like me felt that there was hope in Christ, even for us
assholes.

God works in mysterious ways sometimes...

I'm not trying to whitewash Doc's obvious sins any more than I would
try to whitewash King David's murderous schemes.

I hope you didn't mean by to elevate Doc to David's level by that last
comment. Doc will never be considered a great man of God. In fact Doc's fame
stopped just outside the catheater door except for the few of us who watched
by TV or Satellite over the years. I think Doc and many of his followers had
an overblown image of Doc in their minds. I think they saw him as this
bigger than life, Giant of Christianity in the Modern World. Hell, most
Christians have never even heard of him. Even among the TV preachers he was
a relatively unknown outside Los Angeles and surrounding.

YUP! Was anyone else here involved in a pyramid scheme that was going
around in the 70s? Everyone put $5,000 in and then to advance they had
to bring in 4 more people with their $5,000 etc. etc. Obviously the
only people who would win would be the first to start the pyramid
party. All of those towards the bottom lost big time. Back then the
District Attorney went after those involved.

This is no different. The only way to win is to start your own little
'ministry' of giving. Except that the newbies are nt in sooo much of a
hurry to get fleeced with missy at the helm. Reggie, Joe C. et al are
still waiting for their turn to feed off of the flock.

At least in a normal pyramid scheme, some of those in the downline
actually do accumulate money. In doc's Pyramid scheme, the only one to
benefit was Doc himself, as all the money went to him to do with as he
pleased.
The observation is still pretty good. Doc turns you into a giver, you
bring in more people, with the expectation that they will become givers
(that being the alleged proof of the Holy Spirit in your life), and
they in turn recruit new scotties, who become givers, etc., etc.,
and Doc get's rich beyond the wildest dreams of avarice.

That reminds me of the catholic church and its plenary indulgences.
If you gave money you could buy time out of purgatory. At one time the
catholic church owned 90% of France because people would leave their
entire estate to the church to get out purgatory faster. I heard
Dr. jean speak many times about owing 10% of your estate to him and
why not just leave it all to him.
I wonder if Dr. jean studied the catholic church history?????
I also wonder how many people actually left Dr. jean their estate???

Were you ever involved in a pyramid scheme matt? I was, back then(70s)
it was all the rage. Neow take the pyramid structure and cloak it in
biblese. This is what doc did. And, no most of those at the bottom of
the pyramid did not get paid, they went to the D.A. Each pyramid board
had 8 spots and you would advance when you brought another in until,
theoretically, you got to the top too. But, the catch was that as
others were also bringing in more people to advance too, the boards (of
8) would split and then split again......... those not at the top never
got paid. This was why it was important to be the one implementing or
starting the pyramid. ALA DOC.

And, the hits just kept coming.

No, slim. I was not trying to say Doc was on David's 'level' any more
than I was trying to say you've had sex with farm animals. Level? What
is this level stuff? You think you know who is on which level? I pity
da fool.

Hey, I don't care how many Christians have heard of Dr. Scott, because
I've not met many Christians who've even heard of Christ by the way
they pray in public, judge each other FOR FUN, and speak the Lord's
name in vain by putting on their own private circus act for G-A-W-D.

Was my image of Dr. Scott overblown? Certainly. Was Dr. Scott's image
of himself overblown? Abso-fucking-lutley. Was the man in serious error
in the way he twisted certain scriptures out of context and in how he
ran his organisation? Yep, yep, and yep. The money-works salvation he
substituted for grace based salvation was a goddamned evil. And the
King's Houses living in cars, not getting paid, eating stale crackers,
losing their families, that was disgraceful too. The man should have
been horsewhipped. Publicly.

Nevertheless, Dr. Scott had value, slim. There was a spark of God's
spirit there that moved through him and touched people. Not all the
time mind you, and less in the latter years than in the former. But
that spark was always there. I'm sorry it all had to end so bitterly,
but I for one can testify that Doc left several marks on me, most of
them were good and aided my development, when no one else, and I mean
NO ONE ELSE on earth could have reached me. And some of the marks he
left on me were very bad, but through much painful sorting it out and
by God's grace---the bad marks are now healed, praise be to Jesus.

And in case you couldn't tell, I'm still a fucking asshole, slim. It's
in my own cross and I will bear it. But I trust God will be with me
until the end, even when I'm banging the floor with my cane, screaming
for my own goddamned yogurt. And I praise God's grace, for my own sake,
Dr. Scott's, and for every one of you wretched, stinking, sinners out
there.

Mothafuckin' selah!

He also said that the catholics were the most rightly taught people
because of their unquestioning faith in the pope/mary/etc. Said he
wished his church was that faithful. There was more but I cannot recall

The way the catholic church gets unquestioning faith is they
indoctrinate the children at a very young age. I still remember
the nuns saying "yes children, some of you will loose your faith
and will go to hell", we would all sit there petrified and say "no
sister not me". Every several weeks this would be repeated over and
over.
I am surprised that Dr. jean would put the children on a bus when he
could have brainwashed them at a young age and got undying loyalty.

gypsie: doc relied on the parents to do the indoctrinating. If both
parents attended, then they did a good job.

matt2442:
Perhaps I wans't involved in a true pyramid scheme, but I am somewhat
familiar with MLM, also known as network marketing. If that is anything
similar, then yes, I have been involved, although briefly. I'm not sure
what the difference is, but in MLM, at least some money is being made
on the way up, at least that's the way it is supposed to be. Amway is
one of the original MLM's is it not? (Amway is listed as a cult on many
anti-cult websites due to its recruiting methods, etc) I was not in
Amway, but in more recent types of MLM. I have no desire to do that
sort of thing again either.

At one time in my life, I actually attended an EST seminar. This was
the one you get invited to with the hopes that they will recruit you.
The strange thing is that the public meetings that many of these MLM
companies hold, are very similar in many ways. Some guys runs up to the
podium from the back, and most if not all attending stand to their feet
clapping, hooping and hollering, building the excitement. You are
supposed to come away with the idea that this is the single most
important event in your life thus far.

He said it. His wife's family the Frazers and the Oroville

Stanford didn't have scholarships for Ph.D.s for outside
