If Patrick Henry thought that taxation without representation was bad,
he should see how bad it is with representation.
He'd be "DOG, BOOMER THE" on his driver license.
Reminds me of the late futurist and transhumanist philosopher
Fereidoun M. Esfandiary who wanted to legaly change his name to
"FM-2030" (He had to settle for "F M Twentythirty" but used "FM-2030"
in his writings).
Far removed from the issues, it just seems strange how much importance
we place on a legal moniker. Apart from the outstanding issue of him not
being allowed the name change, how does the way we are legally
represented affect our self identity? If we identify ourselves as something else,
and those we care for see that identity reflected in our actions and
respect it, does our legal name even hold sway? I do not believe it is
necessary or even very practical to change one's name to reflect their
fandom.
From my perspective i see my fandom as something that is a part of me,
not necessarily what defines me. However, In the context of art in action
I can understand how changing one's name could illustrate a point, but
in a very abstract way. If names are considered a chosen expression,
could we argue that this name change does not constitute the definition of
him as a person and instead reflects his chosen expression of self in an
artistic medium?
Even if i do not think the act is important, given the possible
interpretations, could one not argue that changing one's legal name is an act of
speech? In this way, i must oppose the court. They are denying a right
i believe to be inherent, and that is the right of free speech.
I think he should press with this.
On a funny note, how does that judge feel about the precedent of the
Artist formerly known as Prince? Would he say it could "cause confusion in
the community" and would be "seen as bizarre"?

y'know man, it's never too late to get a life ;~ ; reading the
importance a "fandom" have to you is a bit scary to me.
it's a passtime, if you love to draw and express your creativity it's
awesome but being on a fandom just for the sake of being a fandom is a
typical excuse for people like your average furaffinity tard.
just sayin...
