Today I cycled down to Westboro Beach and watched the boats on the
river/lake for a while. This led me to wonder if anthros would like
sailing and why ... I finally decided that it would be something that
otters would love to do.

So on that note, which sports do you think would be enjoyed by which
species of anthros and why? For example, do you think jaguars would like
karate, volleyball, or boxing? And so on.

Also, if you'd like, you could talk about the sorts of sports you
personally enjoy playing and why. (I think it is good if we have the
occasional "life discussion". It adds a human dimension to these posts
and makes it harder to flame people.)

Best;

Rob's reply-

Oh Ho! Finnaly somethin' I can talk about. Speaking for meself... I don't know
about those other Foxes but...

This Fox prefers Hurling and Gaelic Football... Rugby would be a close third,
but it's to tame for my liking. And well we won't get into soccer...

Surprisingly few people get hurt Hurling despite the fact that everyone is
chasing a small ball with clubs in thier hands. HA HA! Grand Fun!

Whataya mean ya don't know what Hurling is? Well go here an read the sports
section... http://www.ireland.com

It's sort of like lacrosse after a few drops of the craythur at the pub.

Coyotes don't dig much sports as far as I can tell except dodgeball, cause
'yotes are skinny enough to stay in the game pretty long... only to get
hammered by a hail of volleyballs at the end when there's nobody left to hit.

At my school we played dodgeball with as many as 30 balls going at once, the
coach got some kind of sadistic glee out of it I suppose.

Come to think of it, sports and games sounds like a fitting theme
for an entire convention. Too many conventions seem to vacillate
between the military and sword 'n' sorcery, and just once, I'd like to
see a convention themed around sports.

Well, in my comic, my cat guy (Maxwell) loves to play basketball. I guess I
made it that way cause kitties have a thing for round objects.

Tamar
(Well, that and I like basketball).

Not to mention the fact that he can create an entire team of his own in

There's a flame war just waiting on the subject of fans needing the
exercise so let's put an end to that right now. ;)

Personally, I'd expect that which sport a furry liked would depend upon the
furry. If we're dealing with something that is so specialized as to be
adapted for one particular sport, what we've created is not a human
equivalent, but an insect equivalent. (Humans are
generalists...specialization is for insects.)
