FUR: Am I spiteful?

You know, after writing a few entries about the Nekobe fellow I have to
honestly wonder if I've finally driven myself into that little jaded and
spiteful corner of the fandom again. I know this is a recurring theme
amongst the fandom.

On one hand, we do have valid complaints, bitching, arguments, and the like.
Then we have certain individual who I dare not name because then that will
roll out of control, who do nothing more then throw dookey everywhere just
to get a laugh. They're kinda like the kid who instigates a food fight then
quietly ducks out while everyone else gets riled up an gets into trouble.

Then we have those who innocently try to post/announce something and get
smeared across 7 aether nations when they have a valid point. Are we really
becoming that intolerant of each other?

Are soon going to have to fall prey to the furry stereotype and give
ourselves our own little nations? I mean, are we going to have to divide
furry into aether nations for the wolves, the tigers, the bears (and of
course the fox nation will be neighbors with the wolves). Then use the
conventions as a breeding ground / United Nations to work our realistic
problems out?

I don't know, this all struck me out of the blue or it's the Snickers I'm
eating and the whole hunger makes you do strange thing ploy. Whatever the
case, being in furry since 1993 has taught me a great many things, damned if
I an remember them all.

But the baseline is this: We're all humans, and until you magically change
into that 12 foot tall firebreathing dragon I'm going to call you a person.
You're NOT some magical werewolf that changes at the full moon, the real
ones are just laughing at you in secret. The magical world does exist, and
you're just too conceited to see it.

So, it's good to hide in furry, have something in common with a great many
thousand other people on this little dirtball and to have something to feel
special about. Don't go fucking it up because you have to try to be special
in that short buss kind of way, because even retards beat each other up.

Moral? I don't think there is on, but be normal within the confines of your
hobbies and attractions, perhaps that's too much to ask.

If it bothers you that this might have happened, I think you're okay.

Careful! The drug companies have proven conclusively and

I'm a dog, not a wolf; the moon has only a slight--yet noticeable--effect

Sibe I know about, heck, who do not know of his many exploits of
exploitation. Nekobe? These days, one would have to have to lived
under a rock not to know who that is. I mean, so many folks taking it
upon themselves to inform the genre public on this terror. (Yes, I do
acknowledge the fact that this person is a general menace, enough said
about that.)

However, Tigermoon Foxx??? Aside from rumors, hearsay, and such, I do
not even think this person needs to be lumped in with the other two
mentioned in this post. Unless there is something written in stone,
filed and notarize stating this person is a criminal, then as far as I
am concern, that is just another person in the genre who may have rubbed
somebody the wrong way and does not deserve vilification.

how much water you drank with dinner?

Why do you think that gravity is the only possible lunar effect?

Consider SAD = seasonal affective disorder. The effect is unrelated to
the sun's gravity, or the solar wind, or any of that stuff.

Please oh please, O master of the Internet dirt-search, tell us what
horrid things Tygermoon has done! I actually talked to her on the phone
once, for maybe up to 30 seconds. Am I evil now?

The moon's gravitational effect only affects really large bodies of
waters, for example, the Mediterranean does not have tides.

Yeah, Google on Alt.Fan.furry for it.

She also claimed that she was being shot at by her new neighbours on
Alt.lifestyle.furry because she was a pagaon or something.

Being like a criminal does not mean being treated like one, or in this
case, being lumped together into the company of criminals. If that case
was true, then lord knows how many folks both in the genre and outside
would be on my criminal list.

I hardly see how that would put her in the same league as Sibe, Nekobe
and DiveFox. In the case of the three mentioned, they do have criminal
records while the only thing Tygermoon can be blamed for is possible
false accusations, which in my book is not a capital offense.

Big business lies, governments lie, even the average person would state
a little white lie, but again, I hardly see how that would cause grave
harm. If that was the case I would trust nobody since I would assume
everyone lies and frankly that is not a good way to go through life.

Yep, only the earth's axial tilt, and it's corresponding effects on the length
of the day...

So what about the moon -is- it that effects you? After we've ruled out
gravity, that leaves what? radiation? Does it still effect you on overcast
nights? When the moon has set (afterall it is still full), During Eclipses?
When you're under bright streetlights?

Or could it be just a coincidental biological cycle with a 28 day duration,
(hrm, gee) that you're mistakenly ascribing to the moon?

People mistakenly ascribe stuff to the full moon a lot... it's discussed
on alt.folklore.urban (hi, Lots42...), the whole "more babies are born
during the full moon" yada yada. I experienced this firsthand. The night
my son was born, the maternity unit was mobbed. I was lucky enough to
deliver early in the evening, before all the maternity rooms were full up.
One of the nurses remarked that it was because of the full moon. Later, I
looked it up, and IIRC it was four or five days after the official full,
which really isn't terribly full at all.

Bingo! A full moon does make nightlife more active, for the simplest reason
of all; there's more light.

Look back: You're the one who tried to confine a discussion of the moon's
"effects" to gravitational equations.

Even the diurnal cycle is somewhat longer than 24 hours (for most people).
One must see some sunlight periodically to maintain synchronization.
Similarly, detection of moonlight might be needed to synchronize a
monthly cycle of some kind. I would not consider this "coincidental". A
lunar-based rhythm that the body can keep going during no-moon periods is
still a lunar-based rhythm, if the synchronization input is lunar.

You know, I'm with you on this one. I really don't know this Tigermoon
person other then a few posts in the past and I can't even remember anything
she ever did that out of whack. Then again, I didn't read the newsgroups

You know, I remember reading about that incident when I delt with my
incursions of the BF's on the newsgroup some years back. I was even AT that
convention and heard nothing of the sort happening.

I'm actually suprised a BF wasn't thrown down a stairwell actually, for all
the rukuss and comotion they made. Then again, it was horrendously amusing
the look in Blumrich's eyes the first time I walked up to him and spoke to
him, and then I struke up a conversation with him outside of the convention
later while smoking. Amazing the difference in tune people have when you're
staring at someone face to face.
