I decided to try to start a "Furry Dictionary" on my website. The dictionary
will be at
http://members.fortunecity.com/redwolf889/furrydef.txt
once fortunecity.com gets a problem that they're having fixed and I am able to
update my site. Since I am not able to upload furrydef.txt to my site at this
time, I'll paste the text from it here. If anyone wants to contribute a word,
please feel free to do so! Trust me, I will be updating my site and uploading
furrydef.txt as soon as I can!

Contributions are allowed. If you do make a contribution, I will credit you by
name and if
you wish me to do so, your e-mail address too (which will be displayed here
with a
“%” replacing the “@” to prevent spam). I will also list the URL you
your website if you
have one and there is nothing on it that is rated higher than PG-13. If you
wish to
remain anonymous, I’ll do that too.
Also, if you think of a definotion for a word that already has a definition to
go with
it, that’s OK, I will accept that too and put it on this page as well.
Unless otherwise noted, all definitions are by Cloudchaser Shaconage.

Mundane (noun): Webster's Dictionary defined as "unenlightened". Used as a
non-derogatory slang term by furry lifestylers and furry fans to refer to
non-furs.
Nutella (noun): A delicious hazelnut flavored chocolate spread that is found
next to the jams, jellies & peanut butter in most grocery stores and is enjoyed
as a sweet treat by many furs. For more info, se the official Nutella website
at http://www.nutellausa.com/
Yiff (verb, noun or adjective depending on usage): Basically the same thing as
the human
word "sex". For example, "She's yiffy" means the same thing as "She's sexy".

I want to object to this as I do on a regular basis. The first time
some furry fan is at a science fiction and fantasy convention and
innocently calls a non-furry SF fan "mundane" and then has to explain
h'self, it will be a wacky little shitstorm.
Merriam-Webster (http://www.m-w.com) gives us "characterized by the
practical, transitory, and ordinary; commonplace." Long ago, the noun
form developed in the greater SF/F fandom community, refering to
ordinary people as "mundanes." It _is_ derogatory, as it should be. If
there were nothing out of the ordinary about you, what would be the
purpose of your existence?
The old phrase "freaking the mundanes" refers to the act of walking
among the public, which contains an unhealthy number of people who
cannot handle anything that isn't "normal," and exposing them to
things that should not really be disturbing, for instance, wearing
costumes, singing weird songs, or being friendly to strangers. If you
are not freaked, you are not a mundane. (On the other side of the
coin, if you set out to "freak the mundanes" and do something that
would be unwelcome to just about anybody, you are not doing it right.)
Unfortunately, for a newbie hearing it in context, it's pretty easy to
assume that "mundane" means "not one of Us." So there are generations
of fans in both furry fandom and SF/F fandom who are working under
that assumption and passing it on. I will be the first to admit that
language is fluid, but I still maintain that this way of using the
word is wrong. It is to no good end, as it promotes tribalism and
misunderstandings. And it makes it harder for folks like me to use it
properly, to describe people based only on the content of their
character.

Tim Tams (n): a rectangular chocolate coated chocolate cream chocolate

Seriously batty
More fruitbats in literature!
Addition:
Dangerous if taken in large quantities...
( I found this out the hard way :P Addictive stuff....)
Blorch (n.); a vagely flu-like illness that has a tendency to flourish
and spread at large furry fandom gatherings such as conventions. Symptoms
can vary, making the identification of the culprit micro-organism very
difficult. It can also be exacerbated by immune system stressors such as
lack of sleep from room-partying and dehydration from airline travel. No
known cure, although I know a certain fur who boasts of his sure-fire
preventative vitamin-herbal combination... :). Also: con crud, Mystery Con
Illness 3000.

Tim Tams are also found in New Zealand, preferred here over Nutella as
well.

I do not "boast", I merely say that _so far_, it has worked for me. :)
I started doing this right around ConFurence 6 or 7 and, so far (knock on
wood), I have not come back with any of the con-cruds that've floated
around.
If anyone wants to give it a try, the formula is as follows:
(1) For about 7-10 days before the con, start taking 350mg (1 capsule)
of echinacea, 3x daily.
(2) The day before, during, and one day after the con itself (or after
you return home, if you hang around an extra day or two like many furs do),
take _two_ capsules (700mg) of echinacea 3x daily. Supplement this with
100mg of vitamin B6, 100mg of vitamin B12, and 50mg of zinc once a day,
plus 500mg of garlic oil (as a capsule) and 500mg of vitamin C twice a day,
(3) For 3-4 days after you return home, revert to the three-times-daily
350mg of echinacea regimen, as in (1).
(DISCLAIMER: These items are _claimed_ to be good for the immune
system, and they seem to work for me, but I do _not_ guarantee anything.
Further, I strongly advise anyone who has known medical problems,
especially ones that require them to take prescription medicines on a
regular basis, to consult their physician before trying this.)

If we're on to confections:
Toblerone: A Swiss-made chocolate bar, available in a wide array of sizes
and flavors. While not generally acknowledged in the furry community,
surprisingly popular among werewolves and other therianthropes.
I had to put that in.:>

What does it matter where people go?
Down to the woods where the bluebells grow.
Anywhere! Anywhere! *I*don't know!
Furgot (verb): Slang alteration of the word, "forgot". This is an example
of Furspeech (q.v.)
Furspeech (noun): The not-altogether-serious alteration of words into
equivalents referring to the furry culture. Examples from the above
sentence would be transliterated as "not-altogether-Sirius" (after the Dog
Star) and "refurring".
I try to be helpful.:)
Yours wolfishly,
The wordy,
Furinstance: the pun-laden citation of an explanation linked or decorated
with a refurence
Refurence: A metaphor or "familiar" to animal attributes.
-Ilr, who's got a whole CASE of Toblerone :)
