On the one hand, it looks like they're going for a werewolf vibe. Okay...

... but I'm a fan of the original series, and don't think it really needs
the whole secret-identity schtick.

How incredibly brave and daring of Hollywood to re-do a classic series.
Whatever next? Sliced bread?

We'll see... The original was very well done, so it would be hard to match.

In other words, a lot like the last season of the original. :P It took me
years to forgive Linda Hamilton, and longer to forgive CBS.

Yep. Looks like theyr'e taking the grittier "no powers" approach:

Not really her fault - the show got caught in the gears of a change of
management and the new guy had to make it HIS project, or just wanted to
kill it off without inciting the fans to object. Or, heaven help us, he
might've thought he had a good idea there.

In retrospect, they should have simply ended the series with a two
parter, making one part about the same as before and the other wherein
Vincent proposes, Catherine decides after much consideration to accept,
we see the wedding in the tunnel with Father presiding, fade to black
"And they lived happily ever after". Then if the new guy wanted to do a
variant Fugitive, he could go do it with something else instead of
ruining this one.
