Yeah hi, my name is Sibe.
In reading this message board one thing becam crystal clear to me. How
seriously people who are into the furry fandom take it. Its kinda humerous
to me being that I dont really give 2 shits what Im portrayed as. I got my
friends that I care about and other than that... fuck all a yall.
The more and more that I hang out here, I notice that the bickering is
incessant, almost to the point of total immaturaty. If its not one thing,
its something else being created. I can see it now, different
sub/sub/subcultures... your not just a furry anymore you are a Burned Fur,
or you are a neutral fur, or you are a zoo liker, or you are a zoo. Whats
next?
Honestly I dont give a rats ass how furryness is portrayed in the media...
which is what the Burned fur movement is all about. How, if looked at from
the outside the furry subculture looks like. I understand though, we do
look like freaks. Again like I said Im ok with that and if someone wants to
think im a freak for
Liking furry art
Living a furry lifestyle
Having a belief in animal totems
Enjoying looking at fantasy creatures copulate
Copulateing with stuffed animals

Thats GREAT! Fuck them too.

The opinion of your fellow fur begins to matter too much when you organize
into little political party lines in the furry culture. In your long line
of bashin humans, you take whatever steps you possibly can to be just like
them it seems. What animal gives a flying fuck about most of anything?
What toon does? What stuffed animal does? What werewolf spirit totem or
other some such thing gives a god damn about what someone else does?
None of em do cuz they are all either mute, inanimate or not real.
Humans do though, humans have a long history of chastizing eachother for the
things that they do, that they dont agree with. Every religion and
following throught history has an enemy. Something that they ostrasize.
No animals have ever done that
The nazi's, the KKK, The Star Trekkies
They all have thier little sects that make up the whole.

This culture is for nerds, because nothing but nerds would sit and chat on
IRC or a MUCK for hours on end when there are cool things outside to do.

This culture is for hypocrits, because nothing but hypocrites would mock and
degrade humans at every turn... then try their best to emulate them

This culture is for sickos, because nothing but sickos would want to look a
yiff between two animal things, fuck plush animals or real ones for that
matter.

This culture is for humans, because nothing but humans can think of
themselves as animals trapped in a humans body, have the perversions that
are linked to the fandom or bitch as much as we do.

So for all your furs, heres a wakeup call
Before your fandom turns to dust, have fun, lighten up and respect others
for their differences. Im a furry goddammit and if that means that im a
fuckin wierdo cuz some dumb shit says so... good

Furrys are playful, honest, truthful, funny and sometimes yiffy.

Those are the kinda furrys that I like to hang out with... All the other
ones I kinda laugh at because they are trying to <cough> be something that
they are not.
They are trying to be furrys.... and being as human as anyone of us.

Yeah, that they do. I kinda take it seriously when one of my LPO's starts
giving me "the eye" for my interests. It's even worse when one of the NIS
investigators is doing a background check on me, but for the most part I
consider this to be a great diversion (read: waste of time) and a good place
to meet like-minded people.

> Thats GREAT! <BLEEP> them too.

*YELP!* Ooooh! My poor, furry ears! Easy, brah! No get so huhu! A little
less acid in your posts is a good thing. ;)

Excellent point, but I think it's inevitable. We're human. And humans will
always form up into little cliques, no matter how damaging to the collective
good they may be.

Hey!! I resemble that remark!

Who? Me?!? Never!

*The otter gets a very odd look on his face at this comment, and you can't
help but feel the need to place your back against something solid and reach
for something to have as a weapon in your paws.*

Heh heh heh! Ya' like eggplant?!?

> This culture is for humans, because nothing but humans can think of

Well, this is true. At least until I find the dog at the keyboard...

RIGHT ON, MAN!!

> Furrys are playful, honest, truthful, funny and sometimes yiffy.

Mmmmmmm, yeah I guess you could say that. And as for yiffy? Hmmmm. *The
otter rubs his shoulder and glares at a certain fox with an "I gonna get you"
grin.*

> Those are the kinda furrys that I like to hang out with... All the other

Actually, I laugh at them because of the time and energy they waste. I mean,
it takes quite a serious effort to actually hate something. And some of
these folks put some serious effort into promoting their various degrees of
hatred! Yeesh...such a waste of talent and brainpower. Oh well...as long as
their insanity doesn't start to drag *me* or anyone else down with them, then
they can go pound their heads on the wall as much as they like.

> They are trying to be furrys.... and being as human as anyone of us.

Oooooh, OUCH! Oh, that's gotta hurt! Well, I must say that this posting is
not much different from what I've been saying both on and offline. A little
more acerbic, perhaps? But hey? You've got some strong feelings about this.
I'm getting more and more mellow about it. At least until some twerp hits
the right button, anyway.

Aloha Nui Loa, all. Furries No Ka Oi, now more than ever!

*Growwwwwllllll*

Ya' know something? This is *exactly* the kind of thing that I'm talking
about. Sibe had good points and some interesting insights. But because he
fell victim to over-enthusiasm and emotion, he gets belittled and insulted!

I ask you, MadBadger2: Have you ever felt strongly about something and said
something that you might have regretted? Maybe felt like you could have said
it better or nicer? Do you think you would have been more likely to moderate
your tone if someone had asked you to do so in a repectful manner?

Or would you rather have them tell you to take your Prozac?

Speaking as one of the "Hottentots", MadBadger, show others more respect and
set the example. Humans *do* follow examples, especially when everyone else
starts to like those who set the good ones.

Sorry about that. After we gave this twit the cold shoulder on yiffnet
I guess he's just going elsewhere to troll. Then again, he's a pretty
green troll, so he'll probably get criped here on AFF.

Methinks he's being sarcastic when he says this.... But he might be right.
Just enjoy the fandom. As long as the anthro thing stays somewhere near the
middle, who really cares? Just so long as the topic drift doesn't get really
bad and we all wind up in a discussion about how much we all like/dislike X
food or something. I mean, the Trekkies are probably 20x bigger than we are
and the don't have half as many divisions. Pretty much
TOS/TNG/DS9/Voyager/Klingon-speakers/Spock-eared/uniformed. We have "Normal"
(with all the diversity its next to non-existant
anyway)/erotic/lifestylers/plushophiles/zoos/reincarnateds/facist/freeforall
/neutral/burned/suffering/et all.

While having my security clearance reviewed, something the military does
normally on a periodic basis, the question of political connections came
up.

It had become known that I was linked to a group that knew each other
almost exclusively by aliases, bot in person and though net
communications, was global in scope, was involved in everything from gay
rights to gun rights and that I was known to attend the half dozen or so
rallies that this group held in various locations around the country and
evidently also in canada and the European continent as well....

While the characteristics of the green pary, the libertarian party, and
even the communist and nazi party were sufficiently documented, there
was insufficient information on file to determine the degree of threat
the Furry Party posed to the national security of the United States.

O.o well, dang. Go figure.... that's one funky angle that I never thought
of... and I guess noone else ever thought of, either... seeing as how noone
ever posted anything about it. Furries as a national security risk? Furries
as a political party? Hmph! Strangeness... Ben Bruin

Heh! Actually reminds me of something I heard back when I hung around with
the Society for Creative Anachronism. Don't know that it's true, but
supposedly the US government keeps track of them as the 22nd largest
standing army in the world, or something like that. *grin*
