FURRY ARTISTS AND WRITERS!

Want to go to Anthrocon?

Want to get a free T-shirt, a free luncheon with the guests of honor,
expedited check-in and a valuable free gift created just for Anthrocon
by its guests?

Well, you can get all that by becoming a SUPERSPONSOR!!!

Now, you *could* become a supersponsor by paying a paltry $160, or...

...YOU COULD BECOME ONE FOR FREE! And here's how...!

Anthrocon is once again looking for talented artists and writers to
provide us with material for our convention book. In addition, we are
now searching the fandom for the *perfect* image to put on this year's
T-shirt, which will reflect the theme of "Furries in Flight."

Our con book offers a fantastic forum for artists and writers to showcase
their talents to their peers. Just to encourage those who might be a
little shy, we will randomly pick the name of one artist and one writer from
among all of those who submitted qualifying work for the con book.
Those picked will be awarded a FREE SUPERSPONSORSHIP to Anthrocon 2001!
We will also be awarding a SUPERSPONSORSHIP to the artist whose work is chosen
to grace our T-shirt.

Here are the particulars:

For each piece that is submitted (in the proper format and with the proper
release forms included) to the con book, one entry will be placed into
Uncle Kage's black hat (remember that one? "Yes, this appears to be the
message Mr. Giordano wishes to convey"). Send 20 sketches, and you get
20 chances to win! Any submission that is received and complies with the
posted guidelines will qualify for an entry, whether it is used in the
con book or not.

One entry will be drawn from the art submissions, and an additional one
from the story submissions, on April 22. The winner will be notified by
email. REMEMBER-- the work must be submitted according to the posted
guidelines in order to qualify. For full the conbook submission guidelines,
send an email to con...@anthrocon.org and our friendly
robot autoresponder will send you the information instantly.

And don't forget the T-SHIRT ART CONTEST!

This one's just a tiny bit different:

Submit a draft of your artwork. We have a preference to line-art, but any
black and white or grayscale artwork will be considered. Artwork must fit in
with the theme of the convention (Furries in Flight). The Rough Draft can be
any size as long as it clearly shows your intent and skill. We prefer that
the Rough Draft be uploaded to our FTP directory, and your full name and
contact information be e-mailed to anth...@anthrocon.org, along with the
name of your file (Files that are uploaded without an explanatory e-mail may
be deleted.) PLEASE use the lowest resolution possible that will do your
artwork justice FOR THE ROUGH DRAFT!

All Rough Drafts must be in our hands by March 1st, 2001 in order to be
considered. From March 1st until March 15th, a vote will be held on all
submitted work. On March 16th, a finalist and a single runner-up will be
chosen and notified. At that time, we will give out the final dimensions and
formats needed and ask both artists to submit a final rendering of their
artwork. The artists will have until May 1st, 2001 to submit a final,
approved version of their art to the Anthrocon Staff. We will also require
that the artwork * NOT * be on public display ANYWHERE until the day the
Convention starts. We want it to be a surprise, after all!
Once the final art is approved, the prizes will be awarded. The finalist will
win the honorary Super-Sponsorship, and the Runner Up will receive a
complementary attending membership. Remember, the artwork must meet all the
criterions agreed to, or else the prize will be forfeit. If, for any reason,
the Finalist cannot meet the final deadline, the Runner-up will win the prize,
and the original Finalist shall get the Runner-up
prize.

Quick note: the artists retain all rights to the artwork with the exception
of the 'No-Display' rule above, AND Anthrocon reserves the right to use the
artwork in promotional displays and advertising, as will as the printing of
future t-shirts as needed. If original artwork is sent to Anthrocon for
scanning, the artwork will only be sent back to the artist if the artist
includes return postage. Only one artist and one writer
whose names are picked by random drawing, and the winner of the T-shirt
contest will be awarded supersponsorships. Blah blah blah blah void
where prohibited blah blah.

I have three submissions in the early development stages. This is good
incentive to finish them and make a few more.
