Sunnyville Stories, an independent comics series, is a slice-of-life
comic centered around the idyllic hamlet of Sunnyville. The third
episode of the series, entitled “the Train Robbers”, follows hot on
the heels of the first two stories expanding the universe of
Sunnyville.
For the third installment, two local bandits swipe a special laundry
detergent from the incoming train. Protagonists Rusty and Sam need
that detergent to clean family heirlooms and pursue the bandits in a
hard-hitting chase to recover it. Can our two heroes regain the
detergent? Or will the robbers make a clean getaway?
The writer-creator of the series, Max West, resides in New York City
and holds a degree in creative writing from the renowned Baruch
College. He has also trained at the highly-regarded School of Visual
Arts in cartooning and drawing classes. His line work is down-to-
earth, yet his compositions show a clear creative vision.
“The challenges in creating this chapter involve both the story and
the art,” Mr. West explains, “And I’m testing myself to get better by
continuing to work on my storytelling and daring myself to refine my
draftsmanship.”
Sunnyville Stories episode 3 is presently available as a 40 page
magazine sized comic at Indy Planet and Comics Monkey for US$3.99.
