Since the wife moved out, she doesn't have access to the Sharps
container I use for my Insulin needles.
She doesn't take insulin.
However, she DOES prick her finger with those tiny needles to measure
blood-glucose. So, she needs something to stuff the used needles in.
Yes, they HAVE small Sharps containers; and yes, she has a
prescription for one. But they cost money ... and the drug-store was
out of the small ones. A big one looked like expensive overkill.
Somebody suggested using a pop-bottle.
Well ... OK, but not ideal.
Then I got the idea of using a small single-serving juice-bottle.
Just the right size.
So, I cut a hole in the plastic top using a sharp kitchen knife.
I left a flap in the hole, so it's one-way.
Then I glued the top on using "super glue".
Finally, I used some old labels intended for 3 1/2" floppies that I
didn't have any use for now; and copied a Sharps Biohazard sign on
three of them to fit just right around the container. Then I taped
over the labels, just for shits and giggles.
The result came out rather nice.
Should be small enough to fit in the Medicine Cabinet; and yet big
enough for a few years of needles.
