January 31, lost his appeal in the Eighth Circuit, will need to sit
out the entire 10 years. He took massive risks. Unbelievably so.
I think he was delusional. Plain sight stuff, multiple working
computers, living alone...and already in trouble for the stories.
He's lucky he only got 10 years.
Not that I don't empathize.
He forgot that the conditions of release for his bail allowed for,
in fact pushed, ransom searches. He should have been aware that he
was a sitting duck as a bailee (Samson v. California, 547 U.S. 843,
846 (2006) - which applied to parolees).
He's lost everything all because he was delusional and stupid.
