Sorry to be off-topic here.....

But you'll recall how CD Universe robbed me as a common criminal
would stop nme on the street, point a gun at me, and rob my wallet.
I recounted how CD Universe acknowledged my emails, in which I was
requesting a cancellation of an order for the Ed Palermo CD. The
manager, and several sales people (at least 2 or 3) emailed me,
guaranteeing that my order was canceled, exactly how I had requested
it.

I faxed my credit card company to company, describing the complete
details, with no results. CD Universe robbed me plain and simple.
Thankfully, I sold the copy from that outlet to someone here on the
newsgroup, who was shopping for the Ed Palermo CD. To that person,
my thanks again. I didn't make a penny of profit from that sale. I
kept the copy from CD NOW, of course...and enjoy Ed Palermo's
interpretation of FZ's material, along with the band's musicianship.

Today, CD Universe had the *** gall *** to email me a SALES PITCH
concerning their inventory. Those cocksuckers at CD Universe make me
want to throw up. S.o.b.'s !!!! I emailed the manager, and told the
f**ker to f*ck off, obviously.

Sounds like you have a bad Credit Card company. if I called and told them I
had in writing the order was canceled, they would not pay it. It takes about
6 months for them to get paid, they probably still didn't pay them. You're
not in the US, so this doesn't apply, but anything sent in the mail, you
didn't order is considered a gift. I would have kept it, and not paid.

Over here (the UK) payment by credit card gives you cover against
faulty goods by mail order that you don't have if you pay directly.

There's also a 28 day clause - if mail order stuff is not delivered
within 28 days of ordering you can cancel the order without penalty.

Somewhat the same in the UK. Herte you have to call and ask the
company to collect the unsolicited goods. If they don't do so within a
certain time (6 months?) then its yours. They can't make you pay for
returning the stuff either.

No, you are. Find yourself a better one, and don't forget to write to
them once more, explaining why you have taken your business elsewhere.

Also, cut the card into pieces and mail it along with the nest bill.

I would agree, I bought this 500 dollar camera lens that that was lost in
the mail. I called the Credit card company, and told them not to pay, they
didn't . It became un-lost and showed up in my mailbox a month later. 6
months went by and the camera company called me asking if I could please
pay for it now, I informed the Credit Card company to do so.

I like them a lot too! And if you join the buyer's club, every 13th CD is
free. It doesn't cost anything to join the frequent buyer's club, you just
sign up. Most items the prices are decent. Great selection of CD's

Never dealt with CD UNIVERSE but dealt with CDnow
and they were really doody heads for not honoring
a free cd promotion based on my ordering via netscape 1.2
(this was a while ago, not i'm using hawaii 5.0)...
I've had successful purchasing relations with songsearch,
though......www.songsearch.com --
never returned or cancelled an order, but they have a
very good but not huge selection, there's a zappa quote nestled
somewhere in their body text, (think it's the "music is the best"
thing), quick and personally written email to my questions,
fast delivery, and the lowest prices, I think, on the net..

Well, that's been my experience..
