Yeah, I found that one. Also Edwin Cohen, Professor Emeritus of
Electrical and Computer Engineering at New Jersey Institute of
Technology. But until we figure out how FZ heard of them in 1988, I'm
not convinced they're the right ones.

Abu Nidal

Before anyone had ever heard of al Qaeda, there was Abu Nidal, a terrorist
organization with an impressive body count whose effectiveness was forever
destroyed when Oliver North used it as a ploy to divert attention away from
his own crimes.

OK, maybe Oliver North didn't exactly destroy them, but they stopped killing
people shortly after North trotted them out in a vain attempt to make
himself look like Rambo.

Hello Charles,
I can not recall where I read it but I thought that Arnold Sylvestri (sp?)
was to be involved in Night School. I'm still trying to find out where I
saw this blurb.

Another interesting tidbit, I can't recall anything newsworthy about Henry
Cisneros back in '88 but he had his problems later on. Any comment on
Henry?

There's a French writer from the end of the 19th Century called Armand
Silvestre some of whose poems were put in music by Gabriel Fauré:

D'oh!

How about page 333 of The Real Frank Zappa Book?

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

What is the Chapter title on page 333? I have only the Hard back edition and
the page you sighted it the drawing for Chapter 18 "Failure".

Where is the index for TRFZB?

I have the hardback edition too. But I believe that the paperback is
paginated the same way.

The drawing to which you refer is on page 332. Chapter 18 starts on page
333.

It would be quite odd (so to speak) if the drawing were on page 333.

Hey Bill,
Thanks for that link. I have been curious about the Cisneros reference for
too many years, but it was Charles' other query that finally made me ask.
Thanks again.

The second name was probably Jerry Falwell, another televangelist.

If anyone can identify Wally Chumblot; Edwin Cohen, Ph.D.; or Lamont

Hey Charles,
Do you recall a guy named Wallid Jumblatt? He was a druze militia leader.
Unfortunatley, I can't find anything that puts him back in or before 1988.
I used to see pictures of the guy, thin, balding, but I can't remember what
year that was.

Charles,
I did a better google search using Wallid Jumblatt and Lebanon and got a lot
of hits. Could he be your mystery man?

Marc (no more Wallid Jumblatt postings, I promise.)

I'm sure he is. Thanks.

But it appears that Walid is the preferred spelling of his first name.

And it does look like he was around in 1988.

From <http://www.meib.org/articles/0105_ld1.htm>:
