Look up the word 'dive' in the dictionary.
After the initial definitions regarding
aquatic and aeronautical topics, you'll
see a photo of this joint.

Schlock Alert!:
This movie began about 20 minutes ago and already its laughable. In a
sort of Mickey Rooney-ish homage ala, "Hey gang, let's put on a show,"
someone suggests to a group of home partiers that they should check out
The Trip nightclub. While the group is scoping out the scene in the
club, a band is pretending to play some psychedelic tune. What's funny
is that the guitarist is seen singing but the soundtrack being presented
is strictly instrumental. And that is before someone doses folks with
some acid.
And then! Who could imagine?! As I was composing the paragraph above,
one guy who was dosed had a major acid 'freak out' on the dance floor.
After the club scene in the movie, one guy had to inform the main chick
what happened to the freak out dude 'cause she was too dense to realize
what he was dealing with.
Now, this is a movie that rots kids minds!
This is a great series that TCM has every Friday night called TCM
Underground.
I missed "The Big Cube" unfortunately, but they repeat these movies
after a few months.
Last year I taped "The World's Greatest Sinner", 200 Motels, Skidoo,
Blast of Silence,
Venus in Furs, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, and other movies that
you only know about if you've read The Psychotronic Encyclopedia of
Film.
The music to these flicks is priceless.
Zappa did the first two of course, but Skidoo had Harry Nillson
singing the credits(!), Blast of Silence had a great jazz/contemporary
classical score by a legit composer (forgot his name), Venus in Furs
had some a scene with Jess Franco (the director!) playing jazz piano
in a jazz quintet and Manfred Mann singing the theme repeatedly(!),
BTVOTD had The Strawberry Alarm Clock jamming with the "Carrie
Nations" and so on.
This is Psychotronic movie heaven!

I obtained access once again to premium TV channels about six months
ago. I discovered TCM's Underground features about four months ago and
watched several films previously unfamiliar to me.

It is great that TCM broadcasts those in addition to their more standard
squeaky-clean fare. Even if they are only shown in the twilight hours,
at least the channel appreciates and presents them.
Tomorrow (Sunday) night, or actually, early Monday morning, TCM has the
following scheduled:
