"Bowling on Charen"

I was checking out the "Trance/Fusion" album track listing, and saw a
cut named "Bowling on Charen". I tried to figure out what that was,
and decided it must be a misspelling of "Charon", the moon of Pluto.

This album sounds great, judging from the samples! I really like
"Guitar", so this looks like a must get.

What about "Imaginary Diseases"? I checked out that album too; it
sounds great. I guess The Estate has been putting out a whole shitload
of new releases from the vault since FZ's death? I'm sure I need to
catch up here...

Those are both worth getting --- they're among FZ's best posthumous works.

Imaginary Diseases was issued in December 2005: that is 4 years ago !
Trancefusion was October 2006,
Since that time "Much water under the bridge !!"
so, time to get:

I think it's a misspelling of "Charon", a moon of Pluto.

Trance Fusion is a selection of live guitar solos compiled by FZ
shortly before he died. Imaginary Diseases is a selection of
performances from the fall '72 "Petit Wazoo" tour, apparently compiled
by FZ sometime in the 70's. These may be the two best Zappa releases
of the 00's. (The third disc of Lumpy Money may be the best single CD
of Zappa music released in the 00's, but having to repurchase
something I already bought 20 years earlier - the 80's WOIIFTM remix -
was a strike against that package.)

Huh? Wazoo is the best of the bunch hands down. Imaginary Diseases is
very good, but Wazoo is phenomenal. I agree with the third disc of
Lumpy Money; that disc is the reason to buy that package.
