White Port and Lemon Juice...

IMHO, the meaning implies that the use of compound intervals (9ths, 11ths,
13ths) don't sound as good when you're drunk.
:)

Wery Wery true.
White port and lemon juice. port is a type of wine named after Oporto,
Portugal. There's another thread about this somewhere.

"Winos don't march" is a commentary about beer. People who drink beer
like to do so in large groups. When a bunch of people get drunk on
beer, they tend to like doing violent things in groups, like tipping
over cars or burning down another fraternity's house, or something
equally stupid. They also like playing team sports like football
(American football) or soccer (European football). People who get drunk
on wine get silly, but generally don't get violent, and tend not to do
things in groups. People who get drunk on liquor tend to get depressed
or violent, but not in groups.
This is, of course, Zappa's theory (it's delineated in The Real Frank
Zappa Book somewhere), so I'm not claiming it's true. However, on the
surface, though it is pretty clearly a simplification, it looks mildly
accurate.

Only if punctuated thusly:
White porter, lemon juice!

Zappa answers that one in "The Real Frank Zappa Book".
In short, his theory is that people who get drunk on wine are less
"proactive" than those who get loaded on beer or spirits. The alcohol
content is not a factor - it's all the other stuff in the various
beverages that affect behaviour.

Porter is also consumed in the English-speaking world. In fact, stout is a
variety of porter.
But I don't think I'd want to try it with lemon juice.

Sadly, no... but in the spirit of experimentation, I'm definitely going
to try dumping some lemon juice into a bottle of porter. Dunno about
white porter, though.

It relates to something Frank talks about in the Real Frank Zappa Book.
Beer drinkers, when drunk, always get aggressive and develop this kind
of "pack mentality". I can't remember his exact words off-hand, but he
goes on to say that scotch drinkers would never behave like that, nor
would wine drinkers.
