Speaking of the Beatles; Has anyone here heard "Love" or perhaps seen the
show live or on DVD? It was a compilation creation by George Martin and his
son Giles Martin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_(The_Beatles_album)
The editing goes so far as to include samples of other Beatles songs faded
in. Meant to be an homage and was conceptually approved by surviving spouses
and Paul and Ringo, some of the mixes are quite different than the
originals.
Thinking about it I wondered if Dweezil and Joe Travers would ever attempt
new collages, for release, along these lines. They were playing around at
this a bit on the "Classic Albums: Apostrophe (') / Over-Nite Sensation"
DVD.
What would you do to mix things up and make things fresh and interesting yet
still not be undermining to Frank's memory?
Some of the mixes on "Have I offended someone?" were reconstructed, remixed
& edited rather differently than the originals on
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Have_I_Offended_Someone%3F there is an
external link : http://www.lukpac.org/~handmade/patio/misc/offended.html. ,
which breaks down, and details the specifics.
For a later discussion or perhaps a new thread: There was a film called
"Across the Universe" which used Beatles songs as building blocks for the
story.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Across_the_Universe_(film) says: "It
incorporates 33 compositions originally written by members of The Beatles."
What type of story could be told with the much larger output Frank made
public? (Complied to maintain Conceptual Continuity of course.)

I mostly consume music that I haven't heard before, so sitting unopened
on my table are some CDs by:
Mercury Rev
Henry Cowell
Sun Ra
Ry Cooder
Thelonius Monk
John Coltrane
Aube
Tom Waits
Lou Harrison
....
As far as "most" is concerned, slowly over the last 5 years I have been
learning to create my own music.
