If anyone didn't get a chance to see Roseanne (the show sucks but hear
me out) last night, Frank's son Ahmet played the roomate of a friend of
Roseanne's son-in-law (he was pretty hilarious) but on the wall in his
bachelor pad there was a big poster of Frank with the oven-mitt on (I
believe this is from Them or Us, anyone?) and at the very end of the show
once the credits finished rolling by, the screen went black and in the
middle of the screen in huge white letters, it said:
F.Z.
R.I.P
This made my evening. It won't make me watch the show (I hate the
show's namesake) but I applaud the producers and even Roseanne for
having the class to recognize Frank. Just thought you'd like to know.
P.S. I was at the Phish New Year'sshow in Massachusetts and the played a
killer version of Peaches En Ragalia as a nod to Frank (they played
it 3 of the 4 New Year's run shows). This was especially nice and
believe me, they did the song justice, not to mention they jammed
on Peaches En Regalia throughout the night during 4 other jams in
their own songs.
We Will Not Forget!
I have this poster. I wanted to frame it but it was too large (prohibitivley
expensive and unwieldy!). I had a framing shop cut it into 16 pieces and
individually framed. A sort of collage. Its fun to rearrange the pieces
occasionally, depending on my mood. Anyway, yes, it is from _Them Or Us_, I
believe from the European tour. I'm guessing because it also had "avec RTL" as
a blurb on the poster. RTL a French Band???

No. RTL is a privat radio station based in Luxembourg.
There exist also two privat TV sender (RTL+ and RTL2) in Germany
by the same corporation.

ZAPPA TRIBUTE: Hard-core Frank Zappa fans or other observant viewers
may have noticed a subliminal tribute to the late rocker during
Tuesday's episode of ``Roseanne.'' The story had daughter Becky and
husband Mark fighting and Mark leaving home to spend the night with a
friend. His buddy Roy, played by Zappa's son, Ahmet, had several Zappa
posters on the walls of his apartment. The episode, taped after Zappa's
death last month of prostate cancer, ended with a slate reading ``F.Z.
R.I.P.''
I would like to know the title of this episode (it will take a while
before it reaches our part of the world, you see).
Thanks,
Caspar. }-[*
