butthole in Rolling Stone whining that "Wino Man" was so terible when

I heard some years ago that a guy was waiting in the unemployment
office, and he heard the name "Michael Kenyon" called out, and it was
the guy sitting next to him, and he asked the guy if he'd ever heard of
someone named Frank Zappa, and the guy bolted from his seat right out of
the building.

"Pachuko Hop" (or "Pachuco Hop", the jury's still out) was an instrumental
by Chuck Higgins. The Mothers performed it live in 1969. The original
version can be heard on Art Laboe's Memories of El Monte (also featuring

Speaking of which, has anyone identified the instrumental that the Mothers

That doesn't lend any support to the claim that it's the first person
singular. Meanwhile, I realized that "chingado" (or "chingada", as in the
N&C) ought to mean "fucked" not "fucking". And the bit about inaudible "d"
was not just a flight of fancy--Ds do get lost (or nearly so) between
vowels in many varieties of Spanish.
On the other hand, there is a tradition of mis-spelling Spanish slang in
FZ lyrics: "carucha" is really "carrucha", and "weesa" is really "huiza"
(if I remember correctly; it's certainly not spelled "weesa" in Spanish).
So maybe we should spell it "chingao" even if it is the past participle
"chingado".
