Not a great marketing move there Elvis.

Yeah...he had a lot of people worried that it wasn't gonna be on
CD-Momofuku is supposed to have some of the old fire..we'll see...get
away from the avant garde jazz..chamber music etc.. and back with
blistering this phony baloney society Elvis!

I think recognizing the fact that EC is never going to make a great album
again would probably be a good idea at this point.

Sal- you hit it right on the head. Being a hopeless dreamer, though I'll
be working myself up in anticipation..

The first two songs are good. Then it turns into the mush that all Costello
albums have sicne the late 80's.

Go Away and Stella hurt aren't mush...but, pardon me my name is eve,
flutter and wow,my three sons, and harry worth could qualify I
suppose... his songs just don't have the meaning they used too...
another decent pretty good album by today's mediocre standards, and the
stores are filled with those...

what's ironic to me is-Macca's last two albums have been terrific
considering his age & are a lot more interesting than Elvis...Joe
Jackson's Rain is a superb collection-he can still write sophisticated
ballads that matter...

The day Elvis recorded "The only flame in town" and he started thinking he
was the next Cole Porter was the beginning of the end. He recorded a lot of
great stuff after that but the great to crap ratio started shrinking
precipitously. Why he couldn't put crap like Harry Worth on his "other
projects" is beyond me.

That production on GCW- was the worst!...and it was the first time he
had a few songs that didn't cut it...Punch The Clock, not to be confused
with any of his prior albums, clearly inferior, (except AB)- in any case
the weakest songs on there-Love Went Mad, Element Within Her, TKO are
all catchy, and beat the hell out of the ones I mentioned...and are as
good if not better than the best on the new CD.
