Costello's "Hide Your Love Away" original lyrics?

Pardon the intrusion, but I've been trying to muddle out what words
Elvis Costello uses in the original verse that he ends to his cover of
"Hide Your Love Away." I can get "Somehow I found myself down by the
dockside," but quickly am unable to muddle out the rest.

I've Googled everywhere, w/no luck. So, to paraphrase Princess Leia,
"help me, alt.fan.elvis-costelllo, you're my only hope." I now plan to
hide in shame after using a line as cheesy as that.
