Here's a question I'd love the answer to which I've always wondered... In
Tantrums & Tiaras Elton John is seen recording a new song in the studio
with Lulu with the chorus 'you're really worth fighting for'. Does anyone
know if this was ever released or used on an album??? I know it's not on
an Elton album but is it on a Lulu album?

Thanks

Never released but I don't think no-one knows why and what happened to this song.

Thats a shame. I've been looking out for it ever since Tantrum because I
thought it sounded great. Elton seemed excited about it when he recorded
it too. Didn't he say "Keep that, I like that... Tea Break!"

Yes, he did. It was interesting to actually watch the process. He went
thru LuLu's lyrics, found one he was into, sat down, and banged out
the song in less than an hour.

Of course, this same pace which resulted in some of his greatest work
in the 70s, also resulted in some tripe in the 80s. You can see how he
could just go in for a day, bang out songs, record, and leave.
Resulting in the kind of tired stuff on something like Leather
Jackets.

I think the song on Tantrums was meant for Lulu and her own album, but
for whatever reason, she wound up not using it. There's obviously a
demo out there in somebody's archives.

I know this post is like over 5 years old but I'm also very interested in this song! I wonder if I emailed EltonJohn.com to see if maybe his staff knows or just maybe they could ask Elton John himself about what happened to it?

I think it would be great if Elton would put together a collection set of his unreleased songs he's made over the years. Even if it's unfinished, would still love to hear the throw aways!
