Is "Danny Bailey" supposed to be John Dillinger? I always assumed so,
because Bernie wrote, "Now it's all over Danny Bailey,/ And the harvest
is in. / Dillinger's dead / I guess the cops won again." However, it's
not that easy, because I noticed that John Dillinger was born in 1903,
while Bernie writes in the title that Danny Bailey was born in 1909.
They both died in 1934, though. Maybe Danny Bailey represents the
fantasy of most wanted criminals like Dillinger. Or is it possible the
Danny Bailey was a real person seperate from Dillinger? If anybody
knows or has any theories, please post or e-mail me. Thanks,

I think Danny Bailey is just a made up character.
