I don't know if it has been discussed here before - or if it is just me, but
I think that "Take Your Mama Out" by Scissor Sisters sounds just like Elton
John - late 70's. It's a great tune!

Looking forward to seeing Elton here in Hong Kong in September - glad that
he is bringing his band with him this time.

Absolutely agree!
It sounds like an outtake from "Blue moves" to me (it slightly remminds me of "Shoulder Holster").
In fact Elton said that this record is one of his favourite of the moments, and it was also inspired
by...himself! ;)

Oh Yeah! I love the new Scissor Sisters and I can see why Elton had
them open for him. Very Elton ala seventies (something he would be
wise to return to now and then).
Latest Rolling Stone reviews their cd, and there is a review of
Eltons Radio city concert. Scissor sisters yeah!!

I heard it on WPLJ here in the NYC area recently and just loved it.

The entire cd has an undeniable Elton John influence. It was released
last week and I urge everyone to check it out!! Awesome and funky
music.

I read an article in Spin magazine
about Scissor Sisters. With all the good
things I have heard about them and
the EJ endorsement I thinking of
buying their CD. I havent bought a CD
other then EJ in...I dont know how long!

I recently purchased this CD and I really like it. I don't quite get
the comparisons to Elton John, other than you can hear piano in the
songs, but it is still good. I liked the diversity on this CD and
each song had some very unique charaterics that set each song apart.

I don't think the Scissor Sisters have really been compared to Elton. I do
know that he mentioned that he is a fan of theirs in his appearance on the John
McEnroe Show.

In the review I read from the Sacramento Bee, the writer stated
that if you like Elton John, David Bowie, Bee Gees or Pink Floyd, check
out Scissor Sisters. I hear a little of each artist on this CD,
but I would never compare them to Elton John. The only thing remotely
related to Elton is the lead singers falseto, I do hear some piano throughout
the tracks and third, ...well never mind. Once you check out the inside cover
I think you'll have that one figured out.

Entertainment Weekly magazine also cited Elton as an influence in a recent
sidebar article about SS.

So does the sticker on the CD mention Elton...I think Take Your Mama is what
Elton used to sound like...
