Who's read the Elder Gods series?

I need some information - can anyone tell me a bit about the character
Ara, eg what does she look like, does she have kids, which book does
she appear in, is she human, is she a PolgAra rip off, does she have a
mate etc?
Will tell all once I get some facts straight.

I read the first book, but it was sufficiently rubbish that I didn't
bother to buy the rest of them. I know that Gneffy has them all, but
whether they've bothered to actually *read* them or not is unknown.

I don't remember her being in the first book (which is the only one of
the series I read), but the characterisation wasn't at all memorable
(like the rest of the book), so it is possible she was a major
character and I've just forgotten.

Ta - net doesn't have much on her, but she was in Book Two (2004):

Yeah. That's my problem right there. I always said it read like bad
fanfic, I just never noticed Ara was a character in an afec fanfic
from June 2000. She's an Alorn blonde mother, possibly liased with
Belar, and has a daugher Oonaigh, who dies in the breaking of the
world.

Here is all you need to know about the Elder Gods series: Read the first
chapter of the first book, then the last two chapters of the last book, and
you know the whole story. After that, you can find some truly wonderful uses
for the books such as door stops, fly swatters, and landfill.

Probably not, considering that the general opinion is that they are
already full of it (not my opinion - I've not even tried to read it).

The amount of repetition, not just of story, but of whole pages of text to
tell some minor character the plot, in a blatant attempt to fill up more
pages kinda put me off which is a shame for a once great author.
Must read the bel/mal again, its been about 4 years and it should be my 10th
reading of it, still from the original first issues.

Well, if there is a bok that can hold excrement, it is this series. I
understand the landfill issue, but they are bio-degradable. This should give
you some other uses that would work well. Use individual pages as water
filters for potted plants, about an inch below the surface. They use organic
ink, so that should wash right to the roots and provide nourishment, while
straining out unwanted particulates.

Ah, thank you. What about the dust cover? It's a bit plasticy and I'm
not sure if it will break down and release harmful inks into my
plants?

Trust me, if you can swallow your bile to get as far as that guy got, bite
the bullet and finish it. It's like David Eddings reads this group and
thought to himself "This will teach the little bastards". I finished the
first two, knowing they were garbage, in hopes that the whole thing would
get better and that I was missing something.

In the end, what's her name, the great cook who is a god-figure, and her
husband who is also a god-figure, just say that the whole thing is a
pointless exercise and they change time to eliminate the Vlad before it is
even born. By doing this, none of the occurences in any of the books
actually happened and it is as if the whole series never happened. It's an
absolutely brilliant "screw you" to the readers.

Actually, I am not sure about Britain but the U.S. versions are
bio-degrabable, and just an extremely thick paper. Again, the inks are
all-natural. No big deal.

Does it really matter? The whole thin was like "Attack of the Killer
Tomatos" or "Rocky Horror Picture Show": movies so bad, the entertainment is
in the trainwreck, except for this series there is no entertainment, even in
the fact the whole thing is a train wreck. You have to admit, writing a four
book series where the only releveant portions are the first few chapeters of
the first book and the last chapter of the final book, is an absolute "go
fuck yourself" moment.
