Okay, so according to this article -

Eric Roth, who wrote the screenplay for Forrest Gump will be writing the new Dune screenplay.

He also wrote the screenplays for “The Postman”, “Ali” and “Munich”
which were all good movies and was the executive producer for the
American version of the tv series “House of Cards”.

The director, Denis Villeneuve, just did “Blade Runner 2049” as well
as “Arrival” and “Sicario” before that, so he's hip to sci-fi and "Sicario"
was a great flick.

Of course this is Hollywood we’re talking about, where studio executives
can fuck up anything no matter the source material (see; HBO’s “Game of
Thrones”…) and “Dune” is admittedly a difficult story to bring to the screen,
more so when you’re trying to cram that story into a 2-2.5 hour theatrical
movie.

Still, it might be cool and could be worse.
