...although thankfully not as overdue as the last one! Yes, once
again the Portrait has been updated! Having pretty much given up on
finding a new shortcut, the address is - and will most likely remain -
http://www11.ewebcity.com/afdportrait/

Current participants: ISO, Dest, Karenji, Happy K, Artlan, Quelonzia,
Mithent, Dawnfire, Wertle, Tamf, Winged Wolf, Akilah, Pyros, Weyrlady,
Tanda, Jia, Baxil, Jrrhack, Terratek, Asrai, Zon and Fortuna,
Sserpenthraxus, Dalcya, Lothaekor, Dracana, Sonarrat, Dragonpearl,
Arcturax, Kyran, Digi, Druidis, Scott, Kerowyn, Fang Tsu, Noit, Xaq,
Tef, Athagon and Solara, Morrowshuck (still called Kagonesti - sorry,
we'll have to fix that up, assuming you still want that picture...),
Tal, Ngarewyrd, Malystryxx, Keh'tel, Ninereeds, Norenxaq, Veldhar and
of course, me!

Questions, comments and constructive criticism are always welcome. As
usual, all afd-ers who have been here at least a month are invited to
appear the portrait, all I need from you is a picture and your size,
in feet for preference. Oh, and please make sure you can give me the
email of the artist, if it wasn't you or another afd-er, so I can get
permission to use the pic.

If you don't have a picture but want to be in, have a look at
http://www11.ewebcity.com/afdportrait/artists.html for an artist or
some dragon/furry drawing tutorials to help you out.

This is just a suggestion; you don't have to take it of course. But the
portrait is getting rather crowded. Do you think it might be a good idea
sometime to mess around and redo the scale to create more room on the
background?

Redo the scale how? ATM, the scale's pretty off - if there was any
set scale, Asrai would be a LOT larger than he is, seeing as how he's
a good 2500' bigger than the second-biggest dragon in the pic. I
still want to keep some idea of size comparisons, though, even if it
is a rough one.

I'm open to suggestions, though...

Because you didn't get back, AFAIK, before the first of January - the
portrait is supposed to be on a month-by-month basis (and would be if
I wasn't occasionally running late...). Don't worry, I've already got
you 100% visible for next month!

I was thinking you could redo the overall scale. Scale down the, um,
people? Beings. Scale down the beings. That way the background would be
bigger relative to them, and you'd have more room, so it wouldn't be so
cramped. Or you could scale up the background instead. Or do both. Or if
you think that would pixelate the background too much, you may just need
an all new background (eep!). But it would be doable.

You didn't get a chance to incorporate the new pic I sent you? But then
again, I did send that in last month and with everything you've had going on
(I hope things are calming down for you a bit. We don't want you getting
overly stressed out, especially since you've been sick) I understand. I
also noticed that you have my length listed as "unknown"... I'm 150 feet.
If you need me to resend the new pic, just drop me a line and I'll get it to
you for the next update, just let me know when the deadline for that is :}

Other than that, the portrait looks great as always! Keep up the good work
:}

Oh I see. I actually got back on the first of January night, local time (US central).

By then, it was too late.

Okay, it's all good.

Ah, I see what you mean. I've already been considering making the
bigger beings smaller, because of an increase in really large dragons
lately, although I can't really make dragons like Dest any smaller, or
they'd vanish! The background (and the portrait) are indefinitely
enlargeable, although I don't want it to get too big simply because of
all the scrolling people will need to do. Still, I may well have to
make a change this month after the addition of a certain 1,472'
dragon... **pokes SeaKing, grinning**

You can always move the 'bigger' dragons further away - thus making them
smaller. :8)

Good point. It was my original intention to arrange everyone that
way, thus making them all appear roughly the same size, but then I
decided that would just be confusing (for me, at least!)... Sounds a
bit too much like hard work!

Anyone is welcome to create an image of myself. One can get a reasonable
idea from my web page (details below), however I always say that it is
better that others draw what they envisage me to be like (though no wings).
It's more interesting that way. :8)

Possibly ... i have a lot of non dragon-related projects going on at the
