For what it's worth... trilobites were the most widespread, adaptable, and
successful species to ever live on Earth, if I'm remembering correctly,
though I do know that they were right up there. They were literally the
dominant life form on the planet for over an entire geological era.
Then... late one era... poof, they all dissapeared, every one of them.
Within a relatively short period of time, they were all gone, every last
strain of them. They didn't evolve into anything else, either; unlike the
dinosaurs, you can't find bits of them in surviving animals--they just
died, all of them.
And humans are a lot more interesting than trilobites. >:=8)

Actually, that isn't quite true. The one single solitary living relative of
the trilobites is the horeshoe crab (which I've never thought much resembled
a horseshoe or a crab... so why do they call it a horseshoe crab? Come to
think of it, sea lions don't look much like lions, and fireflies are not on
fire and are not flies. The English language is highly illogical.)

HEY! Okay, there's a Canadian taking offense to _that_. You gotta love
Canadian money. It's so colourful... and how could you not love a monetary
system that calls its dollar a 'loonie?' There was a time, y'know, when the
Canadian dollar was worth more than the american one.

Untrue.
That would be saying that humans aren't natural - which of course they are!
Nature shapes them just as much as it does every other living thing, plant
and animal.

Regdren ponders this startling turn of events. Wyrm, the champion of
netiquette, bane of one-line posts, has delved into the very evils which
he has fought so long to bring an end to. Would reminding Wyrm of his
folly be the ethical thing to do, or would revealing this hypocrisy
shatter Wyrm's mind, driving him to insanity-driven atrocities in the name
of netiquette?
Another issue facing Regdren is the possibility that Wyrm would ignore
Regdren's warning, but then suffer from it in the manner of many fairy
tales and other stories. And then there's the issue of Wyrm's belief that
he is always right. At the end, Regdren decides to stay silent and hope
that this sort of ugly incident doesn't happen again.

Nope! I stand fully against one word posts. They should never occur.
However 1 line posts are somewhat subjective. Are two words on seperate
lines a two line post? No, I'm more against the quantity of original
material being less significant than the amount of quoted posts. If I had
left all the original posts quoted, then I would stand critisism, however I
snipped out enough to just allow a newcomer to the thread to understand the
context.

You've obviously never seen Dutch money!
10 guilder notes are blue, with either the portrait of Frans Hals, a
famous painter, or some modern art.
25 guilder notes are orange/red, with either the portrait of another
of our famous artists, or some modern art similar to that on the
10 guilder note.
50 guilder notes are orange/yellow, with a sunflower on them.
100 guilder notes are brown, with either a snipe, or some modern art
similar to that on the 10 and 25 guilder notes.
250 guilder notes are purple, with a lighthouse on them.
1000 guilder notes are (dollar-)green, with the portrait of Jan
Pieterszoon Sweelinck, a famous author, on them.
In the series of notes with famous artists, there were also (grass-
green) 5 guilder notes with Joost van den Vondel, a famous poet and
playwright, on them, and (brown) 100 guilder notes with Rembrandt, a
famous painter, on them, but those were phased out about ten years ago.
There never were 50 or 250 guilder notes in the artists series.
The modern art series are the newest, the 10 guilder notes came out this
year. All notes will be phased out when (if) the Euro starts happening.

Well, the 1000 guilder is nicknamed "rug" (back) or "rooie rug" (red

I seem to recall seeing it consistently spelled "roooie" with three
o's in some publication. That would indicate a connection with "1000."

Well, our 25 guilder bill is called a "Geeltje" (small yellow?), because
it used to be yellow, it's kind of red now. Our 50 guilder bill /is/ yellow
nowedays, which can work pretty confusing. Our 2 and a half guilder

idea what the English equivalent of *THAT* is, though).
Hmm... Our 100 guilder bill is celled a "Snip" (snipe, a bird), because
until recently it had a picture of the bird on it. That's about it... for now...
